Henderson close to being the first and Sa an option for the 2nd.

He was then sold, replaced for over double the cost and probably 3x the wages by someone performing worse in the same system. And in the 3 seasons since we have not got near those heights (not saying it’s because he left)

He also never played RB in that team.

So comparing Semedo to Doc is simply wrong and I'm not sure why you've done that.

Because you said “ he got dropped when that system and team didn't work by the greatest Wolves manager in many of our lifetimes” which was wrong.

We played that system the Season after (and the Bruno version the season after that) and the guy who replaced him at high cost was significantly worse. So that is why I compared them.

Doherty’s goals were often winning goals that were huge at the time. I’m sure we all remember the winners away at Newcastle and at home to Man City. That inevitably leads to fond memories of his goal scoring. I guess for some fans this is good enough reason to re-sign him. Others remember the goals but balance it against his lack of effort to get back to defend, pathetic attempts at tackling when he did and a number of seasons being generally poor as a fullback.

I'm past defending Semedo. I thought he'd really turned a corner under Lopetegui but I won't ever forgive him for Brighton away. He's an idiotic defender, a fucking coward and when he eventually moves on I don't suppose I'll look back on his time at Wolves with much fondness.

When I look back at Doherty's time, yes there was a lot of frustration and anger at the start of his spell here but mostly it's respect for the way he turned himself around under Nuno and a lot of brilliant memories. I celebrated goals of his in Braga and Barcelona, the winners against Palace, City, Newcastle, goals against Arsenal and in the FA cup semi final...

Semedo is still a better RB than him though. Not even debatable.

Are you comparing them as right backs, which is what they'd be in this system and what Semedo has been last season?

Of course if you want to continue an argument on something I've already said I got wrong feel free to do that on your own.
