Balance of probability
So you think a free agent, multiple club failure at RB, including Wolves was targeted by Matt Hobbs and Julen Lopetegui?

A player that wasn't linked at any point in January or any point since until this week?

You think that's the balance of probability?

Don't think a career in probability is for you

More likely than -> JL has said no but they are going to sign him anyway so he’s going to walk…

If he doesn’t want him and he actually does sign, then he simply won’t play him will he. So it won’t matter…

Doesn’t take up a foreign spot, no transfer fee, probably on less wages than Jonny. It’s not a big deal.

Think bigger, man.

I was initially going to go for him in my post!

This? His contract was cancelled by the club for him being overweight.

Or it's a Mendes favour for Neves/ future transfer?

Still a player Lop had never heard of until this week was the first signing through the door and that's what he wanted.Surely nobody sane believes that?

It may be that Lop really is accepting Doc begrudgingly but I'd be surprised if he wasn't at least peripherally aware of him before this week. Mostly because we've been talking to him on and off for years.

On Twitter I saw four separate Wolves fans on a single Doherty thread, trying to big up the deal, mentioning 'leadership' as a reason to sign him!?

Never once thought of Doc as being a 'leader', any more than Adama was. Why do people assume this of a player just cos he's the wrong side of 30?

I came on to post this as been seeing similar on the Athletic. Are they equating being over 30 as leadership, where has this idea come from.

Hoever rocking the number 2 in training pics.

Doc's not even gonna be our worst full back 😒

Not sure a Mendes favour works that well with a free agent signing a club doesn’t want. Financially he/they could do just as well out of the deal elsewhere and the player actually plays and doesn’t have the advantage of moving money around clubs or clearing their deadwood.

Still.

1) we don’t know if the deal is going to happen 2) if it does we have no idea how he is being utilised 3) if it turns out he wasn’t wanted by the manager he doesn’t play 4) he then as a result takes Jonnys space sitting in the stands and free up a foreign slot so not the end of the world 5) allows us to loan sell the other RBs at the club giving them needed experience (Lembikisa), recoup some value (Hoever), or give away and cut losses (Jonny).
