Kante is a good example there.

Unless he’s spending the extra £150m he’s getting for selling his soul then this argument falls down as he could spent the same amount going somewhere else

So you don't think people ever become normalized with their surroundings? Someone who gets a bit contract at say 20 and spends a decade living the champagne lifestyle of exotic cars, massive houses and jet setting holidays never accepts that as their new normal and desires more?

I don't think anyone on this board is living that lifestyle so stands to reason everyone considers it obscene as it's so far removed from our normal.

I love the concept that being paid by the Saudis is somehow waaaay worse than being paid by the Russians and then the Americans at Chelsea. Or the chinese here for example.

I think effectively comparing your ability to shop at Waitrose now rather than Aldi 10 years ago with people who are earning 100s of millions is deluded.

The levels are just so far apart. Yet you ARE trying to normalise it.

Of course they get used to a certain standard of living. The issue here is what MORE can they get with the extra sums being talked about. They can already live anywhere, holiday where they like and own any number of cars. Their kids will go to the best private schools and none of their family will need to work for generations. They already have all of this - what real difference would an extra 200m make? Unless they want to start their own space program...

I don’t think I’ll ever get my head round rich people who get 500k per week and they still make their decisions based on ‘but what if I got £600k per week? That would be truly life changing’

How many footballers end up potless? In the last month I've read about 3 different players having to file for bankruptcy.

That’s a different issue though - more around financial planning, transitioning to the world after sport, and not chasing schemes that sound too good to be true.

Agreed and there definitely needs to be more support from the PFA there but if I was a footballer that would be part of my thinking.

Anyway, back to transfer rumours.

- Real Betis have made contact with Adama with the winger "number one on their list". He also has offers from Saudi Arabia & Wolves are still having conversations with him. (source: Relevo)

- Wolves are interested in Angers midfielder Batista Mendy. A 23 year old, 6"3 CDM. Similar profile to Boubacar Traore. 6 million euro asking price, Everton and Forest also interested (source: L'Equipe)

Whipping in the balls for W. Jose. Dream role.

They saw how well it worked last time and wanted to recreate the magic

£20m for him, Spurs pay £20m for Kilman.

JD.

It's the same in all walks of life though. In general it's the more you have, the quicker you spend it because that is "normal living" for them. I know some really wealthy people who are infatuated in becoming even wealthier. I also know some that are happy where they are.
I don't think that will ever stop to be fair.

Xavi has confirmed his transfer priorities - 2 midfielders saying he lacks an interior following Busquets' departure and also needs a pivot
