So Ruben is happy to stay here and would prefer that over moving to a different PL team, but if the opportunity to move to Barca arises, we won't stand in his way, assuming the price is right.

My prediction: we have weeks & weeks of rumours while Barca try to do us over, but we'll stand firm and eventually he'll sign a new contract.

Hope our recruitment team have got some outgoings lined up elsewhere to generate funds.

Will he turn up with a face like a smacked arse a la Guedes, though?

No ta if so
Lops made a point this week of saying he only wants players that want to play for Wolves. I took that as a stab at some of the players that have arrived recently only being here because they were told to do so by a certain agent.

This time last year we had Lage stamping his foot down with demands but obviously once the window opened, he was back to being a nodding dog. Somehow feel our current manager won't just accept anything because Jorge says so

Other than short term salary it doesn't make sense for him to do so unless it's with a small buy out clause.
Thats the only way it would work. Similar thing we did with Lescott back in the day. Knew he was off but signed a new deal with an agreed release clause

Obviously Mendes driving the whole Neves press stuff. Everything we've seen indicates Xavi isn't a fan, although we aren't desperate to sell we wouldn't be unhappy should the valuation be met. Seems to be an attempt to smoke other interested parties out to me at least.

Need Shi to grow a backbone and back his recruitment and management teams.

Cunha was fairly obviously a Mendes move but with Lop's agreement. Not sure we'll have too many more of them.

Also need Hwang fucked off and stop doing things for 'non-football' reasons.

Odds on he stays then. This Fati swap deal seems highly unlikely. I know I shouldn't say this but there are so many reasons not to do that deal for both parties, surely Wolves/Barca won't go through with it. All this just for Messi to have another year or 2 at Barca? Surely someone, somewhere along the line looks at this and calls out how ridiculous the whole thing is.

With Percy it'll come from someone in the club wanting to get it out there. I just think the way it's been worded isn't great from a negotiation standpoint unless as Kenny says they are very confident of him signing a new contract.

They wouldn't be putting that out there without assurances from both player & agent surely.

When the ties are as close as with Wolves & Mendes surely it'd be fairly easy to make sure a high value player doesn't leave for free.

On the Barca transfer ban, isn't that lifted if they make £150+ in player sales first?
At first I thought you’d missed the m as in £150m+, but given it’s Barcelona as you were.
