Wood has scored 8 in his last 52 appearances or 9 since Burnley battered us 4-0, whichever you prefer.

Now admittedly he's been a bit part player at Newcastle but that still puts him at 1:6 goals to games.

West Ham got the vastly better deal out of the two.
I totally agree - it was Ings I wanted - I was just making (to trying to make) the point that Forest will get goals with Woods in the team.

Just as West Ham will get goals out of Ings.

I am not disputing that Cunha, Sarabia for example are inferior players (both are undoubtedly better technical players than Woods and Ings) - I am saying that they are not natural goal scorers in the PL……yet, anyway.

Ings and Woods won’t score bundles - but I’d bet both would certainly score more goals for this Wolves team this season than Raul and Costa will.

They're going to make the kid sign for a club he doesn't want to sign for? Good luck with that.
Good on Wolves for holding out and not upping the agreed by all parties price. If you went to the supermarket and took your goods to the till you wouldn't be buying them if the price on them went up by 20%. You'd just leave them at the till and walk out..

Equally if someone gazumps you on a house and it is the house you really want and you can afford it you might well increase your bid. Exactly that happened to me and I’m still in the house 24 years later.

just don't deal with them again.
That would only be detrimental to ourselves. They'll always have prospects to sell to European teams, and they won't care if we stop being one of them.

Not really. Its detrimental to ourselves if we up our offer, it's not a good idea letting teams agree deals and then renege on them. It sets a shit precedent that anyone can take the piss for an extra bit of cash.

The 2nd part works the other way too doesn't it there are plenty of prospects to buy from teams all over the world, pointless dealing with a team that has randomly stopped answering our calls. They seem an unprofessional shower.

I think that we would all like Gomes to join us and perhaps he will still, but theres dark forces at work here and Wolves are wise in playing this with a very straight bat and integrity.
Frankly we may already have the qualities this lad could bring in with Lamina and Bouba
So with only 10 days or so left we must now look at other options and priorities, like getting Dawson over the line and a someone who can plunder a few goals (I know, Easier said than done 😏)

Not with clubs like Flamengo. They're spineless like that, greedy. It's not the first time they do this, it's a constant practice. Agree a fee, then bait and switch to try to get more money.

Because it happens once doesn’t mean it will happen every time - most other clubs do business normally. It will be Flamengo that come out of all this badly, not Wolves.

If the player is absolutely desperate to come here but his club are acting the cock, it really wouldn’t surprise me if Wolves eventually give in and match the Lyon offer to get it over the line. Ultimately, he’s their player at the moment, not ours. I’m not saying it’s the right thing to do, but if we don’t do something, we’ll miss out.

As for Lampety, I’d have him here every day of the week, but I can’t see Brighton letting him go. And I’m surprised he’s not been getting in their team.

If we do that then we are mugs. It's not a good way to operate.
