The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

We had "freezer surprise" tonight. Thought it was a curry, but turned out to be a beef casserole. Just what you want on a balmy summer's evening!

machin don't you label stuff? After having lots of freezer surprise dinners, I now take all meat out of packaging, seperate into portions then wrap in foil, then place in freezer bags with whats inside and the date written on the bag. If its left over curry or casseroles, they get put into Glad tubs with whats inside and date written in felt on the lid of the tub. No more freezer surprise dinners :)

No, my other half isn't really that way inclined.

Tonight, I cooked fish for the first time (not including fish fingers).

I did salmon in white wine with a creamy dill sauce - and it was a big success! Didn't take that long to do either. It was lush.

I get that with my work lunches. They all look the bloody same when I take them out the freezer and only when I shove it in the microwave at work do I find out what I have!

Michael Kirk butchers in town had a half price Chicken, Ham & Leek Pie offer. Had them last night. Fucking lush!

Lobster Hoagies :licklips:

Turned into Lobster Thermidor! Although unfortunately I can never quite get it to come out as good as what I had in Barbados because that was just out of this world. Mine lacks something and I dont know what :(

If it's going to be frozen solid, why do you bother putting the date on it?
Or is it likely to be in there for more than a year?

Because sometimes I'll have say two lots of lamb chops in there. So I'll know to use the oldest first.

I have a huge freezer in the garage, sometimes stuff at the bottom gets hidden,or forgotten. If I come across something thats a bit old, it gets chucked. I have always dated my meat :)

Hot Dog,topped with a spoonful of chilli, thinly sliced Jalapenos, topped with melted grated cheese.

Fresh Buffalini Mozzarello Tomato Salad and Kobe Beef, with a fancy pattern of sauce. In other words, bit of salad with a piece of beef and a few decorative blobs arranged really very nicely on a plate the size of a platter.

Im off down the road to get me a black cherry ice cream sundae.

For my birthday dinner, my wife says she's got some beef topside cooking in the oven for me. Happy days!
