The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

I hate cooking rice. I can never get the bastard stuff right - until tonight. Lovely and fluffy. A moral victory.

Rice is one of those simple things which is easy to fuck up.

The key is making sure you put enough water in to start with so it doesn't end up too dry or sticking to the pot. About 2-3 inches above the rice level. Then when it's cooked drain and rinse thoroughly with cold water to stop it cooking and sticking to itself.

That always works for me anyway. Nice and fluffy and soft.

Despite the fact I could be considered a relatively competent cook, I too hate cooking rice. Uncle Ben/Tilda microwave pouches for me all the way. Plus one less pot to wash up after...

Due to being stuck indoors today im going to cook a proper Sunday dinner. Beef, yorkshire puds, mash, carrots, cauliflower, roast tatas, roasted onion, gravy, mustard.

Blueberry crumble & cream.

Due to trying to get a foot from bleeding like a stuck pig, appetite isn't up to much but a Double Decker should do it.

Assorted cheeses, crackers, grapes, sliced apple.

Chopped celery, carrots, broccoli, red pepper with a creamy dip.

Chilled white wine.

Pudding is a Flake that arrived today :)

I had a nice jacket potato with cheese and some mixed side salad. Followed by fresh fruit - Pineapple, blueberries, melon, orange.

It was a very refreshing and satisfying meal on such a hot day.

Chicken & Mango Korma.

Fucking lovely stuff.

Sounds good, though I don't really like Mango.

Last night was fish finger wraps with lettuce, yellow pepper, cucumber, mayo and chilli jam. Never fails.

Just mastered a poached egg. One of those bastard things I could never get right. But that one was spot on. #moralvictory

Homemade meatballs,Marinara sauce, and squiggly spaghetti.

Honey mustard glazed ham, roast tatas, broccoli, carrots and sugar snap peas.

We had "freezer surprise" tonight. Thought it was a curry, but turned out to be a beef casserole. Just what you want on a balmy summer's evening!
