The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

We're gewin all posh tonight.Fray Bentos Steak & Kidney pie, mash, n' mushy peas!

Yum. I hope you're having gravy on that? Maybe a bit of mint sauce.

Just putting the pie in the oven now. Better be worth the 3,552 miles its travelled!

Had a go at bangers and mash last night. So did cumberland sausages in onion gravy, cooked some of my dad's home grown green beans and served with potato, carrot and garlic mash. God it was good. I was pissed off that the kids ate theirs as well as I was looking forward to some extra.

Sliced the onions in my new food processor too. Which was insanely satisfying. I could have done it with a knife but I had to try it out.

Tut tut tut - dicing onions is excellent knife skills practice and takes hardly any time at all with a very sharp knife.

Well yes, I know that, but I didn't have anything else to slice with my new toy. So the onions volunteered to test it.

Went to the nearest Chiquito last night.

Veggie five bean chilli chimichanga, chilli chocolate fondant for dessert and a bottle of Brewdog's Vagabond. Yum :licklips:

I can't believe how expensive some of the chain Mexican restaurants are.

£14 for chicken fajitas. You're having a laugh. £16 for a 5oz rump steak fajita. :yikes:

Went to Wahaca which has just opened in Bristol this week and thought it was very reasonable in comparison. Shared a platter of tacos, quesadillas and tostadas with the girlfriend for £20 which was really good value considering how good the food was.

Mexican food comes bottom on my fav foods list. I like it, but it doesn't like me.

Don't think i've ever had a Chimichanga.

Quite nice. For those that don't know, it's a deep fried burrito. Came with salsa, yoghurt and (spicy) guacamole, the latter being simply stunning. The aperitif was spiced popcorn which was delicious too.

That sounds amazing.

Me and the missus are bored of our Friday night Chinese so we'll be having Dominos pizza tonight.
