The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

(notwithstanding Bear's weird goat, salad cream and lima bean concoctions that he would come up with)

Goat is lovely. I had a goat stew in Egypt which is probably one of the nicest things I've ever eaten.

Oh I know. I was just digging on Bear and his nonsense creations. Salad cream and ketchup on battered fish for instance. He takes it all in good heart.

I don't have ketchup with salad cream! That sounds disgusting.

Ketchup with curry sauce, yes.

You're missing out on a flavour combination sensation.

I know. I'll have to forever live in ignorance with my actual condiments that are supposed to go together. And without the pleasure of wallpaper paste mixed with vinegar slathered liberally over everything else.

I mix ketchup, salad cream, vinegar, pepper, and pour over prawns. I wouldnt pour it over a pie though. Unless it was a fish pie.

This is getting insane :icon_lol:

Extra vinegar to salad cream, as if it doesn't taste enough of vinegar.

I like vinegar ! I like my chips soggy in vinegar. When I make cucumber and onion in vinegar, i use some of the vinegar to dip bread and butter in :)

My cousin used to eat vinegar sandwiches when he was young.

Runs in the family obviously.

My brother eats salad cream, I tell him he is a disgrace all the time. Appalling food stuff. When I am king it's getting withdrawn from sale.

So did I , but apparently I prefered the vinegar used from the pickled onion jar !

I blame it on the fact that me sister used to feed me me wee from the potty.

Option B for me Clive.

I get Bears notion of mixing the flavours. I know weirdo's who when they eat a meal, will only have 1 foodstuff at a time. They won't mix the sections of the meal. EG they'll eat a fork or 2 of potatoes, then a fork or 2 of meat, and so on. I love combining the stuff on my fork & getting different tastes & textures.
I also know people where (again, eg) the bean sauce cannot touch anything else on the plate.

I also think certain things do go together, and certain things never ever go together. Which is where Bear sometimes looks a bit of a loon :icon_wink:
For example, chicken has gravy or mayo. Ham has ketchup, as does bacon or sausage. cheese has salad cream (forgive me deutsch! But it is lovely & tangy)
Other arguements ensue - baked beans never ever go with mash imo. Others disagree.

I know when I was young I was far too fussy with food choices. I am glad I've opened up to new possibilities a little at least. (I still find many of Bears food combo's weird tho!)

What, you'd honestly rather drink my wee than have a vinegar sandwich ? !!

More nutrients. Both would be horrible I'm sure.

Vinegar is a condiment to be used sparely. You don't dunk bread in it!

Baked beans go with nothing on my plate. They're horrible. On the PPB's piss sandwich - vinegar sandwich scale they're around the same mark for me. Cannot abide them.
