The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

Baked beans - horrible? Don't know what you are talking about.

Mixed in with mashed potato - great. :)

Cold straight out of the tin is good as well

They make me feel sick. Can't even abide the smell of them. Horrible.

Baked beans go with nothing on my plate. They're horrible. On the PPB's piss sandwich - vinegar sandwich scale they're around the same mark for me. Cannot abide them.

Baked beans mashed up on a sandwich in which the bread has been sprinkled with sarsons malt vinegar.

My favourite thing to eat at the mo is grilled home grown tomatoes.
The tastes & flavours are amazing!

Have to say DW, they go great with baked beans!

Made a cracking pasta bake the other day with pork & on a whim added some sliced tomatoes & it was glorious!

If I've got a choice between eating that and being eaten by coyotes, I'm picking option B. 100 times out of 100.

DW is correct in that baked beans DO NOT go with mashed potatoes though.

& I agree with him in that a little vinegar might be ok. Lashings of it though? Nah. Yer chips lose their crunch!

I'm definitely one of those people who has to have a bit of everything on my fork when I have a roast dinner. Sometimes it doesn't fit in my gob though!!

Baked beans with mash is alright. I prefer ketchup mixed in with the mash though.

Oh and has to be salad cream with ham. Either with a salad or in a sarnie.

A Masterchef between Mark and Bear would be something to behold. The driest, blandest food in the world vs every sauce in the world piled on whatever.

I'd love to serve up curry sauce and ketchup on chips just to see Greg Wallace's face.

I prefer soggy chips to crunchy ones. I also like to pour mushy peas over the chips, to help aid the soggy process .

Ham with ketchup? Get out! Salad cream with cheese?!? I dread to think how crap the cheese is if you're lathering that muck all over it!

I like cheese and salad cream sandwiches occasionally.

I only like Red Leicester. I'm not a big cheese fan and dislike strong cheddar immensely. It makes the roof of my mouth itch!

Squeeze cooking tonight. Toad in the hole. Yum

As an aside the Morrisons Christmas food order catalogue arrived yesterday. I can safely say that Christmas dinner is going to be fucking ace at Paddington Towers.

When I clean my ears out with a cotton bud, it makes the roof of my mouth itch . Doesn't happen with cheese though.

I love a really mature cheddar, a nice weepy brie, a crumbly rocquefort. Cheese is fucking ace.

And Port and Stilton is a marriage.

My Christmas/Holiday issue of my cookery mag arrived this morning, some mouth watering recipes, especially the grated sprout one :licklips:
