Nothing controversial about that. Lineker is one of the best anchors out there.

His football podcast is good too, it’s just a shame Micah Richards is on there and not Ian Wright.

Would agree.

Think Shearer’s effing sounds a bit forced like he’s trying to sound like one of the lads but he’s otherwise excellent as is Lineker. Richards by comparison is just such a turn off, shouty hearty laughter for nothing.

Maybe he’s just joyfully happy and I’m unnecessarily grumpy, but the episodes a few weeks ago when he was away in Mexico and it was just L + S were a whole lot easier to listen to.

I guess its been a while since there have only been 2 English teams in the last 16?

Maybe it's the lack of English teams, but pretty much all of those games look a bit shit.

Onana "He is shit, absolute shit and every shot was easy to save. That said he was better than Dan Bentley - My keeper of the weekend"

This is big news IMO - from the ECJ's ruling on the Super League and UEFA/FIFA's response to it

“The FIFA and UEFA rules making any new interclub football project subject to their prior approval, such as the Super League, and prohibiting clubs and players from playing in those competitions, are unlawful,”
“The Court holds that, where an undertaking in a dominant position has the power to determine the conditions in which potentially competing undertakings may access the market, that power must, given the risk of conflict of interest to which it gives rise, be subject to criteria which are suitable for ensuring that they are transparent, objective, non discriminatory and proportionate.

“However, the powers of FIFA and UEFA are not subject to any such criteria. FIFA and UEFA are, therefore, abusing a dominant position.”

Bit difficult to how that could be any different.

Yeah, it's essentially "UEFA and FIFA don't know how to write rules properly as they're stupid". Nothing new there.

The ESL won't happen. No appetite for it outside at best four clubs.

I think there will be appetite for it across europe.

Might end up being PL vs ESL

There isn't.

Only Real and Barca in Spain, Juve in Italy and *maybe* PSG in France. German clubs don't want to know. None of the other leagues are big enough to make a dent, even if they were interested.
