Recently turned down an offer for the club as well.
Would be very concerned that all the clubs assets have been put against this loan. What's stopping him taking the £20m and essentially fooking off leaving the stadium etc at risk.

Yep he needs to pay it back by midnight Saturday, he took it out the club originally to help with another business. Sounds very robing Peter to pay Paul.
The £20m loan is repaid over 4 years, no doubt with sizeable interest.
Also sounds like a hand to mouth existence for the club also.
Put it simply they’ll do very well to avoid administration and relegation in the next 2 years.
Looking at the squad it won’t generate as much as they’d like especially when everyone knows they are desperate for cash.

Is there anything we can swoop in and smash and grab? Do we need a new set of corner flags?

Can’t see many of their playing staff being wanted by PL clubs. The good players they’ve got are just solid Championship players. Wallace, Swift, Diaganna, Mulumbu would all struggle at PL level.

Well it might be (love) truth and honesty..?

Oh have I missed another hilarious Bananananananananananarama joke?

Just done some reading loan is taken out to avoid having sell their players. Loans been secured against the training ground and other assets. Chairman still hasn’t paid back his £5mill loan either.
Pretty much means it’s promotion or bust this season.
Sounds like if the club doesn’t go up then they’ll have to sell all their players in the summer just so they can pay back the loan and function as a business.
Fully expect Corberan to make quick exit, pretty much means they’ll be reliant on youth, generous loan deals and free transfers.

They didn’t have a pot to piss in in the summer either is the thing: they largely picked up free transfers. I don’t understand how a very financially stable club has found itself in this mess.

The club never actually makes money to any great degree, so there's no nest egg to fall back on and the owner has always been iffy.

They've also not really sold anyone of note in the last dozen or so years so haven't recouped money that way. Rondon is still their record sale for about 18m

For all the E-Sports and Wolves Record hate that I see online it does at least generate revenue.

To be fair there’s no one in their squad who is high value either. Yokuslu and Wallace would probably fetch the most and they wouldn’t go above £10m each.

To be fair they’re doing well at the moment but you’ve still probably got 6-7 teams who you would fancy to go up above them.
Just highlights how much Steve Bruce is outdated as a coach.
Outlook is grim though get promoted it’s just a 9 month holiday and a big pay cheque.
No promotion means a fire sale and seasons of struggle.

I genuinely have no idea why people think Everton fans are deluded.

Fans of these clubs who have always been in the top flight haven't got a fucking clue have they? United fans think their world is falling in if they don't win the league and constantly bleat about 'how much worse can it get', ''how much more can we take'

Obviously there are clubs a lot of worse off but it must be boring living in a world of perpetual mehdum. Once a decade flirting with the top 6, occasionally doing the same with relegation, but in the main finishing 9th to 15th season in, season out and paying a lot of money for the pleasure. For many reasons I hope they go down, but doing so will probably give their fans an enjoyable season for a change next year

My best friend is Liverpool supporter and things were absolutely nuclear a couple of months ago.

Took a lot not to respond with "hm yeah tell me about the last time you went through back-to-back relegations"
