I suspect it’s more to do with a rather impressive £220m loss.That takes some doing.

Or the cost to develop the 2 sides of the ground which are closed is unsustainable

I doubt they'll not be in it next season or be in with a chance of not winning some sort of silverware this season.

Buying dreck like Pepe has certainly not helped them.
 
They look like they over paid for Partey too. Their ticket revenue is huge with Europe games in there and they must get a boat load from Emirates.
 
They're really crap at selling players, especially compared to Liverpool and Chelsea.

Someone who I went to school with played for Aston Villa .In the 60’s although he didn’t play in the game ,when Villa played Santos in a friendly at Villa Park he won the raffle for Pele’s shirt and I actually held it
