Watford’s players aren’t bad though. They were massively underperforming and missing Deeney. They could easily pick up a few wins over Xmas and us going there on NYD after two tough games with less rest isn’t going to be easy either.

Could easily pick up a 2 or 3 wins of wins from the next 4 and be out or nearly out the bottom 3.

Watford are generally shit, overperformed massively last season really. Having said that I reckon they’re still better than Norwich and Villa, given where they are though it could still be proper tough for them unless they start taking points from the teams around them.

I think both Norwich and Watford are more likely to escape than Villa. Watford’s performances haven’t been as bad as their results and Pearson will galvanise them. Norwich score goals and have known they are in a relegation battle since they got promoted and they will keep battling. Villa have brought in too many players who will have little concern about the club and will already be thinking about moving if Villa go down. Villa are going down a well trodden path of promoted teams - reasonable start, results drop off, injuries take their toll and the early promise of new signings fades away before Xmas. I think the only reason to think they will stay up is that they are our local rivals and will do so out of spite.

The PFA are starting to kick off about it so hopefully that will get the one game removed. Make the league Cup semis 1 leg and there's the extra space you need.

The game between Boxing day and NYD should be the one that goes.

Seems barmy that teams (we) play 3 games in 6 days, but then get 2 weeks off soon. Surely that one game could be moved to the middle of that break?

How would a 1 leg semi final work then? Neutral venue?

Don't see why it can't be luck of the draw, the same as every other round
