what's come out mate? All I know is the stuff from your posts.
Where do you start? Whole thing, kicked off when a reporter found out that back in 2017 the CEO John Delaney had lent an organisation with a €50million turnover, €100k for cash flow problems. Seems that at the end of 2016 UEFA paid the FAI Dundalk's prize money for their Europa League run in 2016 (this is normal practice with all associations, who then distribute it to the clubs) which was €2m or so, Dundalk wanted it in staged payments, and when they went looking for their 2nd payment of €300k, the FAI had already spent it elsewhere, which is why the loan was needed. Also it seems each year they always wanted their government grants paid early.
That opened up a can of worms, whilst the majority of LOI clubs live on the breadline and many employees of the FAI including development officers are on around minimum wage, the womens team did not have any tracksuits and had to get changed in toilets (the list goes on), not only was Delaney on €360k a year, but hidden in the accounts, they were paying for a house for him €36k year, plus he had an FAI credit card on which he spent on one occasion €40k in 6 months.
When they went before a parliamentary committee they stonewalled, the treasurer said they had only 1 bank account, turns out they have 24, and they were feeding the auditors guff information.

So the whole house of cards is tumbling down, due to the dodgy practices.
Along with that you can add in, they fucked up their side of the Aviva redevelopment, so they are still saddled in debt, whilst the IRFU have paid off their side of it, As a good benchmark of how they have performed commercially, back in 2007, FAI turnover was €45million, which by co-incidence was very similar to the other two big sporting organisations, IRFU & GAA. In 2017 FAI was €49million, other two were at €85-90million.
Thats before you get to the actual stuff on the pitch, main reason we have been so bad over the last few years is that players havent been developed by English Clubs (of course less Irish are going over as clubs are bringing in players form all over the world), its only in the last couple of years that they have noticed that they cant have somebody else do the work for them. They now except LOI clubs to do it, whilst treating them like shit and giving them peanuts.
Thats just off top of my head, its a shambles hopefully a clean slate will come of it next season.
