Given that it could be several more years before Wembley is paid for, the FA have no alternative but to hold England games there. The FA have always wanted to take games around the country, but finances are the stumbling block, hence them looking at an NFL team playing at Wembley so that after 2017 England could again play at different venues.

UEFA have confirmed the changes to the seeding system for the Champions League. League title holders from the top ranked seven leagues plus reigning CL winners in Pot 1 from next season, so the end of Arsenal (for example) continually being in there on the basis of coefficient.

Down in 24th at the moment, surprisingly Denmark and Sweden are only just above them and Cyprus are 17th. Also Austria are 16th, I have no idea how as their teams never do anything in Europe and the standard is utter pap.

Our Norwegian friend will be saddened to learn that his league is officially ranked lower than Scotland at the moment.

So this year it would have been:

Pot One:
Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, PSG, Juventus, CSKA Moscow, and Benfica

Pot two would contain the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona.

Can't find any information on that one.

Presumably they'll still keep the rule where only one team per country can be in each group, so Real couldn't be drawn against Barca for instance.

It would presumably mean an end to ridiculous "walkover" groups like the one Chelsea are proceeding to try and make a right hash of, as well

Unless Barca get axed from Liga BBVA as has been threatened.

If you are getting the English second place into pot two and arsenal also there because co-efficient isn't being used there should be a better chance of a few decent groups of death.

Pot 2 will often be stronger than pot 1 with this change,pot 3 and 4 won't look much different I think...
