So Richard Scudamore and friends are expecting me to travel to Hong Kong to watch us play someone like Burnley one day? Wow. Is my money worth less than that of someone from China who doesn't give a damn for the team(s) he's watching?

Where you are doesn't mean you care less.
There are many ex-pat wolves who post here. Do they care less than you?

Oh, I forget, you go to every game so you care more & your opinion is more valid than everyone else, FACKT.

I care and I'm not even an expat!

Don't give me that bollocks, you know exactly what I meant. I'd venture that the majority of the people who go to the NFL games at Wembley never watch NFL outside of that and go purely for novelty's sake, and that's exactly what this will make the Premier League and one fixture per season. Who matters more? Season ticket holders and fans in the city who give their hard-earned money to the club or someone in the UAE who Scudamore is trying to cash in on? I'd venture that the majority of fans in Wolves can't afford to follow their team in these far-flung places and they shouldn't have to. My team isn't there as a novelty for someone who wants to "experience English football".

The simple fact is, under this proposal, 50% of the top flight will lose a home game to be played in front of a "neutral" audience in the far east or wherever, where there are millions of plastic glory hunters who follow the top teams.

And you can guarantee that those same top teams won't be the ones being asked to give up home games.

Scudamore can get to fuck.

It's a worse idea than the 39th game. Unless it's free travel for STH :D

Even without the fact that some teams will lose a game at home each season and as Paddy said it wont be the big teams, can you imagine the whining and excuses the following week,

we had a 23hr flight each way to Australia whilst they only had 5 hours to New York
we had to play in mental hot in Qatar, well we had to play in mentally high humidity

Also the games involving the big teams will get full houses in the middle & far east because that's where they will be played, as no doubt there will be a bidding process for these games and the big clubs will go to the highest bidder. I cant for instance see the likes of Burnley v West Ham, Southampton v Sunderland, Stoke v Swansea (all games next week) dragging in much of a crowd apart form curious locals who wont be supporting either side wherever they are played

He sites American Football, the NHL and Basketball as examples, the only problem with that very flawed argument is that the sport is already high profile in the countries they want to go to, particularly the far east and the American sports really aren't high profile in the countries they go and play in and those organisations don't go to the places that have established national leagues or a well established fan base that has a slightly different style of play (Sweden and Czech Republic for NHL, Spain and Greece for Basketball).

It's blatant money making and hopefully FIFA have the good sense to slap that prick Scudamore down, the profiteering arsehat.

In other news, but slightly related, the FA may decide to host England games around the country again if an NFL franchise use Wembley as their base.

So the football association plan to take the international fixtures of our national game away from the national stadium that they built at a shite location for the national game so that a different national game of another country can use it.

That's a good thing though isn't it Sniffer? I'd rather go to Old Trafford/ Villa Park/ Eastlands for a game than Wembley every time.

I bet they don't move the sodding FA cup semi-finals though!

Yes you are probably right but I wouldn't expect any key games or prestigious friendlies to move away from Wembley.

It a sad state of affairs, although an economic no brainer, that our national stadium will require the sponsorship of American Football in order to pay for itself.

I'm terribly excited at the thought of an NFL team in London. Hopefully with the same gaudy uniforms as the old NFL Europe.

If it's the London Jaguars they can keep them!

Think they'll start a new franchise altogether. Or hope so. Anyway with the way the league is set up the only thing stopping a team from being any good is personnel recruitment. The Jags have just never identified that their issue is O line because that's not a sexy position.

Whats going on at Coventry with the Ricoh arena, are Wasps and their owner just opportunists looking at a to good to be true price?

It emerged yesterday that CCFC Ltd has been offered an option to match a £2.77million deal agreed with Premiership rugby side Wasps to secure the Alan Edward Higgs Charity’s 50 per cent stake in Ricoh Arena operating company ACL.

Redknapp has another book out :icon_lol:

I know you're currently doing a good impression of a bloke who's retired and has plenty of time on his hands H, but might be better if you wait until you've officially done the deed before you become the new Jackie Collins. Last time I checked your team was bottom of the league.

Don't give me that bollocks. Perhaps you should attempt to communicate more clearly than just thumping your keyboard. Ignoramus. The above starts off being different to what I think you might be trying to say. However, don't assume your statements are glaringly obvious or clear, because they aren't.

Oh, & this part of your post:
Who matters more? Season ticket holders and fans in the city who give their hard-earned money to the club or someone in the UAE who Scudamore is trying to cash in on?
Actually suggests you meant what I put in my original post.

I await your ignorant, ill-thought out, ill-conceived response.
