The Film Thread

You see that is the part that annoyed me the most, was it taking itself seriously or not ?

Of course it wasn't!! Every scene with Rainn Wilson should have told you that.

Yeah, watched it at the weeked and was disappointed.

Didn't feel like a Tarantino movie at all. Very slow paced, and none of the usual witty script.

Also, why did he completely re-write what happened in the Tate murder?

Yeah it's really weird isn't it? It's like a teenage fanboys fantasy revenge. Like Chris Nolan making a film about Fred West where he gets killed by James Bond. Bizarre. In really poor taste as well.

Was just about to head to bed and Old School comes on BBC1, love this film.

Said the same to the missus. Imagine being Roman Polanski or a relative of Sharon Tate and watching that. What was Tarantino trying to say?

I think they'd have been much more upset if he'd have shown the true murders in their grizzly realism.

Isn't that the whole point though? How many Hollywood films have been produced over the years where the writers have demonstrated 'poetic licence'?

The Gentlemen - Really enjoyed it. Good script, great soundtrack, well acted.

Brightburn. Superhero/horror hybrid that I didn’t know what to make of from reviews but I really enjoyed it, something really different. Don’t be put off by the superhero tag either, while the origin of the main character is a direct rip off of Superman it’s nothing like a superhero film at all, more horror than anything else but that’s only down to the gore. Give it a watch.

Just to add to the cheery mood, watched Spotlight again this morning, brilliant film

I’ve got to start going through them all again.

Trying to convince my kids to watch them with me too, but they're not having it. Rather play fornite and Roblox the little gits :blah-sleeping1:

Cass loves them, Sydney can take them or leave them.

They've put Contagion back up on Netflix. So naturally, we watched it last night. Scarily similar to the current crisis!!

Joker is flipping brilliant. Best film I’ve watched in a very long time.
