The Film Thread

Anyone seen Once upon a time in Hollywood? I’m a massive Tarantino fan, this was a bit odd but great ending lol

Watched it the other night - very disappointing.

It is pretty aimless and plotless and without the usual sharp Tarantino dialogue; although Brad Pitt is very good.

All IMHO.

Yep, as I thought it was brilliant...

John Wick 3. What a load of bollocks.

Uncut Gems on Netflix.

Unbelievably irritating film. Sandler's performance was decent enough (though calls for an Oscar are just silly), but the film had already lost me 30 mins in. I managed to stick with it and the last 1/4 was good, but over an hour and a half of incredibly annoying people shouting over each other in every scene was the main thing I took away from it.

If you'd seen the first two, then what were you expecting?
It's mindless action fun. I enjoyed it, but then I enjoyed the first two...

I didn’t expect to see Keanu Reaves triple piking over a shark.

Yeah, it's an odd one. Everyone in it is really annoying and the soundtrack is really grating. It's like everything has been set up to be as irritating as possible. But it did keep me watching to the end.

Loved the soundtrack personally.

1917. Brilliant, but a very difficult watch.

Not a new film, but we watched Hidden Figures last night, about the black female mathematicians working on the US space program in the '60s. Highly enjoyable.

Uncut Gems, heard loads about how good it is - after watching the first hour the second half better be fucking amazing.

It's incredibly marmite, I think.

I stuck through it but didn't particularly like it, though the last act was decent enough. The best bit of the film was his girlfriend's arse!

Saw Birds of Prey earlier for some reason and really wish that I had not. Easily one of the worst films I have ever seen.

At least you could have a perve over Margot Robbie.

I could've told you the film was going to be shite as soon as Ewan McGregor was cast.
