The Film Thread

Hail Caesar, absolutely woeful. I genuinely hate film critics. Giving things a good score as it tells a story accurately, is cast well and has historical accuracies.

If it's a shit story it doesn't matter how well you tell it!

The new Macbeth film. Couldn't understand a fucking word of it.

Indy 5 confirmed for 2019. No major issue with Ford playing the part - he looks about 60 and was great in Force Awakens - but it needs to be brilliant after the last effort.

George Lucas is involved. It won't be.

Captive. Don't think I would have remained as calm. I'd have probably reached for the gun and got meself killed. I remember this happening, and watching it all unfold on tele as it was actually taking place.

Have lent a mate Requiem for a Dream.
Be interested to see what he makes of it...

Great film. And scored by fellow Wolves fan Clint Mansell.

I watched Spooks: The Greater Good.

Really enjoyed it. Quite gritty and fitted well with the style of the original series, but a cracking watch. Not sure why it got such mixed reviews.

Anyone got any horror film recommendations?

New is preferred, but I'm easy really.

Watched a couple recently that I would recommend without hesitation. The Babadook is a genuinely chilling story of a single mother struggling to bring up her son, and The Mist, a monster flick in a similar vein to Cloverfield, based on a Stephen King novella. Both currently available on Netflix.

I struggle to watch horror films nowadays. I just can't seem to suspend my disbelief anymore and end up laughing or being bored witless rather than being scared.

It Follows was the last one I tried but switched it off after 20 mins. I know it's well liked though. On Netflix too.
