The Film Thread

Wonder if PPB has seen it yet...

I have Jolemai, twice! Once at the pictures after being virtually dragged by the hair. Second time at home on blu ray, again not by choice but because it was Mr Penguins turn to pick one to watch (we take it in turns). Both times I enjoyed the opening 10 minutes of action, but then after that it's just the same old Bond drivel. Plus, it needs a new Bond.

Movie night tonight and my choice so its ' Suffragette '

Suffragette. Good performances by the cast of ladies. Made me a bit ashamed of all the times I have never voted.

War Room. I don't honestly know what I thought this film was going to be about as I had read no write up, reviews, or what it was about. Mr Penguin brought it home from Redbox for a Dollar a night. WARNING, If you don't believe in God, that there is a God, that God determines your life's path, that he's looking out for you, and you dislike Bible bashing of any kind then do not watch this film.Worst film I have ever watched that made me feel as angry as this did . And the Clara character makes you want to put your feet through the screen. Supposed to be a ' feel good movie' . Is it fuck.

Creed. Said I wasn't going to bother with another one of these Rocky spinoffs, but there it was on my doorstep yesterday afternoon. It was ok, the usual, and what you would expect. A story of a fighters son, trust and friendships. Watchable, but hope that's the last of them now.

Extraction. Dreadful stuff. I didn't bother watching it after the first 20 minutes or so.

I was hugely disappointed with Spectre, the worst Bond film in recent years.

Agreed, I thought it was nonsense.

I really liked Creed and Stallone was excellent in it.

I watched Mad Max Fury Road this weekend, wonderfully shot (minus the sped up bits which always look ridiculous) but I thought that the film itself was a bit 'meh'.

I thought Spectre was probably in the top three Bond films of all time, but hey, that's opinions.

I thought it was ok until Blofeld turned up, then it all turned very silly. But as you say, that's just opinions.

Spotlight is very good, although very close to All the President's Men. As with all these type of films the fact that is based on truth increases how much you are appalled.

finally watched spectre. oh dear. huge disappointment. i appreciate its bond but you'd think they could create some kind of tension/suspense in a film as long as this is.

Room. A film of two halves really, filled with lots of emotions and a cracking performance from the little actor who plays 5 year old Jack. :)

Legend. Enjoyed this one and would watch it again. I knew Ronnie was a nutter but never realised he was that much of a nutter.

Extraction. Like leeds said 'dreadful stuff ' or as PPB would say ' fucking shite '

Watched Amadeus for the first time in ages last night, once you get your brain passed the American accents, it truly is a glorious film !

Just watched The Big Short. Superb viewing. Really good performances and an eye opening 'story'.

The stage play is brilliant too.

Spotlight. Made me angry.
