The Film Thread

Bone Tomahawk, and one of the most brutal death scene's I have ever watched.

Finally got round to watching the Denzel Washington Equaliser.

Fucking loved it!

Creed is excellent. One of the best in the Rocky series. Stallone the best he's been in years and Michael B Jordan brilliant as baby Creed.

Interesting to hear. I'd seen that there was another film in the Rocky series but after the last couple I wasn't going to give it the time of day.

Really enjoyed ' A Brilliant Young Mind ' . But then I enjoy all of Asa Butterfields films.

I enjoyed Black Mass. The Equalizer is pretty good too Paddy.

Just watched Legend.

Tom Hardy is very good but the film is a bit meh.

Sums it up really, phenomenal stuff from Hardy but the film didn't have the balls to do what it really should have done.

The Cabin In The Woods. Load of utter bollocks.

Solace. If not for Anthony Hopkins I'd have turned this film off before the end, it started promising then turned to shit and only Hopkins' charisma kept me watching. Little bit of a twist at the end but could have been so much better.

The Intern with De Niro and Anne Hathaway.
Really enjoyed this film.

Just watched Selma on Sky, awe-inspiring and difficult to believe in this day and age that it was a struggle that took place during my lifetime.

The Visit. Made me jump a couple of times but otherwise disappointing. Didn't find it particularly funny either. Don't waste your time on this one.

The Revenant. Really good - a proper man movie with lots of beards, bears and bastards. Dialogue is mostly just Leo grunting as he crawls around in the snow but it looks stunning. Definitely one to see in the cinema. Some of the things they survive though are a bit unrealistic which does spoil it a bit.

Carol - 1950s lesbian love story. A bit like the Revenant in that it's slow and looks fantastic but that's where the similarity ends. More a Sunday evening in with the missus.

Goosebumps. Silly, but enjoyable. Reminded me a bit of Jumangi.

Quite enjoyed watching ANT-MAN last night, but then I can watch MARVEL films all day quite happily.
