The Film Thread

I thought Gravity was atrocious. How can you like it so much??

Gravity is an awesome film. Watched on a big screen in 3d, it's totally immersive.

Sandra Bullock swimming through zero gravity in vest and pants. Amazing.

Gravity was great. I actually went all the way to the Broad Street Cineworld just so I could see it in IMAX 3d. Now THAT was awesome.

Gravity is a stunning film.

Tonight's joy with the kids was the Shaun the Sheep movie. Fucking hilarious in places, and chock full of cracking little Easter Eggs. The animal pound Silence of the Lambs prison pastiche being just the most immediately memorable. Really enjoyed it.

I thought Gravity was a work of art. And that was on a 32" screen. It must have been something else in 3D. Beautiful film that successfully managed to create the tension and claustrophobia the astronauts must have felt.

The 3D really worked, especially floating around in the capsule. Outside in space it gave it some depth.

Manglehorn with Al Pacino. Bit boring with times of wondering where the whole things going, except that he really loves his cat and feels closer to his cat than the people around him. It's worth a watch just because its Pacino.

I thought that Gravity was shite.

I kinda agree. Very very slow, completely unrealistic and not even a compelling story. Apollo 13 was more tense.

I understand that seeing it in the cinema was an immersive experience, but it's a fairly bland movie.

It's visually stunning and fucking dreadful in every other sense.

It's Avatar without the aliens.

Avatar - now there's a pile of shite. Pocahontas without the songs.

Gravity's the only film I've seen that 3D actually enhanced. Plenty wrong with it, but thoroughly engrossing.

Avatar was awesome in 3D - storyline was a bit rubbish, but as a spectacle amazing.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron. More of the same from the super heroes. I'll give it a 6.

I thought it wasn't as good as the first one but still decent. 6 is about right.

I see that Unbroken is on Skymovies. I wanted to watch it at the flicks, but never got the chance.

Snow White is so fucking thick. I'm watching it with my 5 year old daughter and even she knows that eating an apple offered by a mad, cackling old woman is not a good idea.
