P3 Red flagged after Carlos Sainz has a big crash and buries his car in the barriers. No radio contact and he is still in the car. Not looking good at all.

Out of the car and firmly strapped onto a stretcher and off in an ambulance.

Awake and gave a thumbs up.

That was a massive impact. Very worrying for a while when there was no news.

Airlifted to hospital now but all reports are he is ok.

Replay of the crash and its a biggun indeed. Clipped the wall at nearly high speed and then a straight line at about 190mph into and through the safety barriers

The GP3 race, due to have started 10 mins ago, has been cancelled due to the barrier damage and not being able to repair them in time. Qualifying is still planned to go ahead on time.

The concern is that he ended up going under the barrier I think (although you wouldn't normally expect to be going off there at full speed in the first place).

Bit of a lottery with qualifying now as no-one has had any decent running time. They were just gearing up for some full scale laps when the accident happened.

3 Layers of the Techpro barriers and still knackered the fencing behind them. Issue was losing his front tyre which has lowered the car so he has pushed the barriers up and over him rather than into the impact zone to absorb

Qualifying should be a nice lottery at the front with so little running. Assuming it goes ahead on schedule.

The Tecpro barriers sitting on top of him trapping him in the car is not a good thing to happen. They must be quite heavy. Though if they do go to closed cockpits eventually then that will make getting out after an accident even more complicated.

All the talk of Russian being Singapore II for Mercedes proven to be a bit wrong. They are miles ahead of everyone else after qualifying.

Rosberg dominated it and took a deserved Pole. Lewis 2nd after his last attempt went wrong. Bottas third, Vettel 4th and Kimi 5th. Few odd results, such as Massa being in 15th place and Button up in 13th.

Rosberg has to hope that Lewis has a DNF tomorrow as a Rosberg/Hamilton 1/2 does nothing for his chances to win the title.

Hamilton is 48 points ahead of him, with five races left. So Rosberg has to average 10 points per race better than Lewis.

He needs a quick reduction in that 48 though. If Lewis has reliability in the last 5, Rosberg has no chance.

Nico will win tomorrow I reckon as long as he gets a good start and I don't see Lewis pushing him to hard if he stays 2nd.

I agree it's not going to happen unless Lewis has a DNF with Rosberg winning.

Disaster for Rosberg. His throttle has fooked and he is now sat in the pits and Lewis is in the lead.

Rosberg is out.

Looking like another non race again with the emphasis on whose gonna finish 8th or 9th.

Could get interesting if Kimi stays ahead of Vettel.

I know, you're too kind, in any other sport it would be about who's gonna finish 1st or 2nd, if ever a sport needed looking at its this one.
