love it!The Danish game has the potential to be like a blind boxing match.
He can still get forward, he doesn’t have to hold the centre backs hand. I’m not looking to get all forward thinking players in the pitch, looking for balance which we didn’t have tonight. Then you’re stifling Bellingham though.
Was listening to a bloke tell me earlier he must start with palmer, foden, Bellingham and Saka. Interesting balance to that team
He wasn’t holding centre backs hands though. You play him in a 2 with rice he isn’t there making the run for the goal.He can still get forward, he doesn’t have to hold the centre backs hand. He's just been voted the best player in the PL, yet for England his first touch is always safe and backwards. Why is that?
Maybe he should have put Watkins in CM then? That would have been exciting or maybe we just make sure we win the game?I can see why he's on, but it's like Southgate has said - what's the most boring substitute I can possibly make?
No. We've just watched Bellingham absolutely boss the game and score, why move him?Is it worth a try of Bellingham alongside rice with Eze/Gordon Foden Saka in front?
Yes it's an excellent start.I’ve woken up with a bit of renewed optimism today, as I wasn’t too positive after that second half showing.
I actually think having a tough match like that right at the start will do us good. Players will sharpen up & grow in to the tournament. Quite a few of the players have had injuries - Kane, Stones, Bellingham, Saka etc. To get a clean sheet and a win when we had to dig in is a good thing. I think it’s better to do it this way than to smash your first opponent 4-0 and then expectations are through the roof. In the cold light of day, it’s a good start and result.
I do think Southgate needs to make earlier substitutions and what to do with Foden as where he’s playing doesn’t bring out his best.
A lot of casual England fans were worried about him because he doesn't play for a sky six side, so they don't know much about him. He was excellent (better than Stones on the night who looked rusty). Amazing that football clubs outside the top 6 can also have talented footballers isn't it?!Yep, Guéhi was a big tick, we didn't miss Maguire at all.
