I can see why he's on, but it's like Southgate has said - what's the most boring substitute I can possibly make?

Made a difference to be fair to him. Dross 2nd half mind. We are better suited with 2 wide forwards who are both direct. Literally nothing coming down the left with trippier and foden.

No they haven't. In the old days, they never warmed up except for a few mins before the ref called for kick off. Then they started coming out for 10 mins, then 20 and now we have 40.

Think 36 years ago counts as old now...

Not great second half but Pickford only made one save and I'd be very disappointed if he let that in. Get the win on the board, all that matters

Yep, although Rashford is genuinely massively overhyped IMV, if he was firing he’d definitely be a useful option. Glad GS didn’t take him though, been dross this season

Southgate dreadful 2nd half, kane needs to stay on his feet, he spent more time on his arse than humpty dumpty.
Rice was poor, saka was missing 2nd half, foden was just missing, and if trippier is the best left back we've got, jamal is going to peel him raw if we get lucky enough to meet spain at some point.
All in all, painfull.

It wasn’t pretty and I thought we should have carried more of a threat on the counter attack but I thought he generally made the right subs and Serbia never actually looked like scoring.

Will have to play better than that obviously against better opposition. Midfield set up is the key problem to solve I think, and hopefully Shaw is fit for when we need him.
