The Definitive TWF Wolves XI Thread (1970 - present)

Jarvis
Sako
Kennedy

Really pained me to leave Dennison out, loved watching him in my yoot.

Interesting to see where people are placing Sako. I had him 1st as despite screaming at him sometimes out of frustration he did loads to excite me. Dicko Adobe Sako will probably be my fav chant ever

Jarvis was a major part of getting us to the Premier League and a major part of keeping us there. Just. That alone should put him above Sako.

Yep, this for me.

As good as Sako was, Jarvis was actually picked for England while playing in a pretty dreadful wolves team.

Sako is the player I have most enjoyed watching for Wolves so he had to be my first choice.

Jarvis had spell in the Prem where he was getting you off your seat every time he got the ball

Definitely, he was great in a side that really didn't attack that much (or very well). And I've never been prouder of a wolves player than watching him come on for England.

Jarvis
Sako
Dennison

Very honourable mentions in this order to Kennedy, Froggatt and Sinton. Comfortably the hardest choice for the right reasons so far.

I was thinking Dennison but Froggatt performed at a higher level.

Shame he was put on the wrong bloody side! Does all his best work on the left, so let's play on him on the right.

Loved Andy Sinton in his first season here. So good that it wasn't even that outlandish that he might have got a recall for England (given we had no-one else to play on the left, Dennis fucking Wise played there in Euro 2000).

Maybe my deep-seated hatred of 3-5-2 is down to Colin Lee switching to that after we got battered early on in 1999/2000 and decreeing that for a month or so there was no place for Sinton...

BFS bought him and played him on the right too. You've just spent £12m on a winger and you're putting him on the wrong side, good work there.

Sako winning this is likely but a travesty. Wagstaffe would have had Sako cleaning his boots. Waggy worked hard, chased back ,created. Sako was fuckjed off if left upfield. It was not this strong point let's say. But he makes my top 3.

Wagstaffe head and shoulders above all else in the top league too.
Sako as he scored more
Jarvis , tough call over Dennison but and England cap gets you the nod.

Steve Kindon , the fastest left winger we had in my life time ( check out his sub 10 second 75 metres) nearly made it!

Waggy was different class, but as with Parkin and Munro, most folk on here did not see him play and have correctly voted for the players they have seen.

Their loss

In ten years people won't have seen Bully. He was great. Andy Gray was also great at a higher level for a shorter period. Time distorts memories. Gray incredibly probably that a better all round game than Bully. As did Dougan. The results are really unlikely to reflect that though. But we were there.........
