I was there when he hit the post against Stoke.....that was a fun afternoon in the SB stand, surrounded by loads of beered up clayheads singing Stein-o, Stein- o

Pretty sure it was one game. I went to watch us play Leeds reserves at home in Oct 95, Emblen played RB and did well, Taylor obviously thought it was a good idea to do it in the first team and we got panned. Tranmere at home in 94/95 we won 2-0 (and Emblen scored when playing CM, Billy Wright's send off) and McGhee was in charge by the time we beat them in Jan 96 (fairly certain Emblen didn't play at RB in that one).

Willing to be proven wrong! My memory isn't what it was. But I think I'm right on this one.

I can't find anything about line ups on tinternet about line ups from that era. Either way in hindsight a couple of decent games (at absolute best!) doesn't make him worthy of a vote. Should have gone for Jinky Smith but I never thought he was great.

Incidentally, the Stoke 4-1 game, was that where Deano ended up in goal?
