The Definitive TWF Wolves XI Thread (1970 - present)

Agreed pre injury. Post injury you may as well have put me there

He had one good game post injury, absolutely beasted Dion Dublin when we beat Cov in the League Cup. Realistically it finished him though.

Agreed. Dion was a real gent to. One of the nicest footballers. Remembered your name, said hello in the street.

Lescott
Richards
Curle
Craddock
Butler
Mountfield

Had I seen them play then Berry and Co would certainly get in

De Wolf scored a hat trick away at port vale in an absolute mud bath

Its a tough category this. Berry was good. Craddock was good. I gave Berry the nod ad his was in the top div.

Richards
Lescott
De Wolf (loved him pre-injury, was just awesome)
Curle
Butler
Westley

Tight one:

Andy Thompson - 40
Derek Parkin - 34
Jackie McNamara - 33
Lee Naylor - 29
Stephen Ward - 23
Mark Venus - 17
Scott Golbourne - 7
Steve Froggatt - 6
Kevin Muscat - 2
Jamie Smith - 1

While I'm a Thommo fan, quite surprised to see him top of the pile

Right this is a tough un....so many to choose from,

Munro
Lescott
Curle
Richards
De Wolf
Shirtliff

Wanted to shoehorn Mountfield and Craddock, but there you go

Thommo benefited from there being no clear choice I think. Parkin is too long ago for a lot of people, Jackie Mac didn't play that much, Ward was a bit Marmite, so was Naylor and so on and so on.

Shirtliff is a great shout, our defence went to shit when he got injured in 1994/95. Quality signing by Turner (forgot to mention him in my article this week, oops).

I felt that you could perm any 6 from about 12 and you could find good arguments to back them up. Shirtliff, Butler, De wolf, all had good shouts.

Joleon Lescott
Dean Richards
Keith Curle
Jody Craddock
Rob Hindmarch

Not sure what's worse, nominating Hindmarch or not even naming six players :D
