Techy Stuff Help!

we live in apartments so that's what I've done in our last few places. I've got a 100ft cat6 running from the living room to a switch in the office, and just staple-gun it into the corners.

Anybody proficient in iTunes/iPhone stuff? The kids always have our old phones when we get new, but the offset is that iTunes still sees our old phones as ours and not the kids' if you know what I mean. Cass has just had a new one so I want to back hers up so I can restore her new one from that backup, but whenever I plug it in it just sees it as my phone. I hate all this iTunes shit, the biggest downside of the iPhone altogether.

Don't want to lose all their stuff otherwise I'd have done that straight away. I'm going to try and get iTunes on the girls' PC to see if I can do it that way. Fucking pisses me right off all this iShit.

It should all be linked to the iTunes/iCloud account - you should be able to back it up from the phone without actually plugging it in anywhere.

Does Cass have her own Apple ID?

Yeah they both have, I'm going to go through the cloud after we've had dinner. Never done it that way but I'll give it a go shortly.

That should work mate its how I've always done mine

I'll let you know when I've fucked them both up.

what stan said. in your itunes account you'll have a list of devices associated with your login under the icloud section.

to transfer devices, you need to remove any pin/fingerprints, log out of icloud on the device, deregister it from your account in itunes, and then go ahead and do a clean reset.

How does IPTV work, how is it better then what I try to get via Kodi....?

You can use IPTV in Kodi with the IPTV simple PVR client.

You need to find a relaible IPTV provider, which is a proper minefield.

What I mean is why is it so much better then viewing stuff through Kodi on Neptune Rising etc etc.

I've had a month off Ebay recommended and it's crystal clear on most channels.

It's the same as streamkng via Kodi, just usually paid for therefore better. It's usually short term though and most stop working fairly quickly.

Kodi is just a media player, the content you watch via it is provided via numerous ways and means.

So it's up to the provider to keep it going, I suppose if he's getting enough subs his service will keep up to date rather then a free service via Kodi.

Have a look on r/IPTV and r/IPTVReviews, Quirk. Should help you out.

More to do with getting too popular and getting taken down.

For the prices it's not thst much of a gamble if you lose stuff.

Easy way was to just click ‘Set up as new phone’ in iTunes instead of the restore option. It then saw the phone’s new name which allowed me to backup and carry on.

I've seen issues before where new people weren't able to use the phone because it was never deregistered, I'm guessing itunes might automatically do all those steps for you in the background. good to know. I never actually use itunes myself, can't stand it.
