Summer 2021 transfer window

He claims to be Welsh but I know you have scored more official goals in the Welsh league than him. Get on to Jeff right now.

As I am trying to be Mr Positive I am just going to concentrate on the part of Tim's tweet "working on a number of deals"

If I block out some of the rumoured players thats great news...

It’s €12m less than we had an agreement for and Betis have still been done.
If you think José was bad you clearly haven't seen Moore play.

He's a shockingly poor footballer but he can head.

Marçal and Semedo's crossing may have to improve a tad

the crossing thing needs to improve regardless of the lumps they are aiming for in the middle

Don't know a great deal about Moore, bar what I saw in the Euro's. So, good with his elbow is my main take, although he did score with a decent header (v Turkey?..edit Switzerland) and quite surprised by his club goals since he Jose'd it at Ipswich. 13 in 20 at Rotherham, 10 in 36 at Wigan (no clue how many starts in that, can't be arsed to google him that much) and 21 in 46 at Cardiff.
Be surprised if we do sign him though but we are in a situation where we need someone as its currently Raul - Silva................................................................................................................................................................................................................- Samuels. Depends how desperate it gets by next Tuesday I guess

Sky Sports have just reported that any loan for Traore would be dismissed out of hand, the contract is still on the table from us and it would take more than the £45m Liverpool paid for Jota for us to even entertain a sale.

Quite right too.

I think we'd be looking for substantially more than we got for Jota, given the state of the market and the position we'd be in afterwards.

I would take 60m for him. That should be enough to afford a good CM, CB, and Forward with the other money available.

I dont think Moore is as bad as some people here are saying. When I've watched him he's been very good in the air (as you'd expect from someone his size) and his hold up play has been good. His goal record is decent as well.

The issue is though, you wouldn't take Jimenez off and bring him on and he's not the type of striker you'd partner with Jimenez either so I don't really see when you'd get him on the pitch unless an injury happened.

Seems a waste of much needed funds.

Times now reporting we’ve rejected a £5m loan bid with the “option” to make the deal permanent next summer.

Cheeky bastards.

Much less technically capable than what you saw Mir doing last year, so selling him for 8 million after the Hulesca cut and spending 7 on Moore would be crazy to me. If that is true I can only imagine they have seen something on analytics that suggests he fits 'something'.

My issue is that prior to Nuno leaving he was talking about the need to adjust the thinking on squad size and work with a bigger squad, and that seemed to be coming from the club itself, so where are the players to even increase the squad.

Worth remembering that any Troare deal would be done at 10pm on deadline day in keeping with Levy's MO, therefore no chance to spend the money anyway

The last sentence is my thoughts too. Bruno’s analytics team must have seen something in him if it is true. However if it’s also true that Cardiff want north of £10m for him I wouldn’t spend that - there are more pressing positions.

Just hoping this Kieffer Moore thing is a bargaining chip for something else we're doing

If this is the model it's a pretty shit model for fans

How else would you expect to be able to compete, without endless investment like Man City?

We (Leicester) haven't done too badly following the same model.

The problem that I see, is that recent recruitment hasn't been good enough recently, and that these 'resalable assets' like Neves/Traore, have been there for 2-3 years now, without the list of assets being added too.
Podence/Cutrone/Semedo/Dendoncker haven't been added to that list, for example, and wouldn't be worth more than they were signed for.

Why was Jota sold so cheap?
Contract issues or a release clause?

He wasn’t.

I read that Jota was sold for 'up to £45 million'.....That's cheap.
He wasn’t even starting for us, and prone to being very hot and cold. It was a good fee - he’s rediscovered his mojo in a top team but was performing quite frustratingly for us.
