Summer 2020 Transfer Window (Extended Version)

Lampard apparently wants to keep Ampadu around for this season.

Brighton look to have done well with Lamptey, he looks very good. Certainly couldn't deal with a Coady diagonal though!

Lamptey signed permanently for Brighton in January didn’t he?

Yeah a player like Lamptey is a decent shout. Did Atalanta sign Pasalic permanently? He might have been a decent shout if not too.

There's so many Chelsea young players who have been out on loan/coming through I lose track!

Yeah they signed him permanently - not sure on the timing and/or how much Ilicic going walkabout influenced it but they definitely did.

Im sure our recruitment team is working overtime to get deals over the line..hopefully things will get moving this week

We are favourites to sign Max Aarons. 4/1 on Sky Bet.

(I know odds mean nothing).

I’d definitely take him. Our system would definitely hide any deficiencies better I think too.

Been linked before so don’t think it would be a huge surprise if we made a bid

For the life of me I cannot understand why we haven't made a bid. This is the one big thing that worries me - a bit like Matty Cash. Is Mendes involved? Is he Portuguese? If not we don't seem interested. Swapping Doc and £5m for Aarons would be good business IMO

On any transfer we have no clue what stage any of it is at until reveal day or a leak.

For example. Brentford purchased Ivan Toney today from Posh. The start of that transfer was 7 weeks ago. Just because we are hearing nothing it doesn't mean the club are currently sitting having a chat over a cuppa regarding RWB's as if Doc's move was a surprise to them.

Why do people keep posting stuff like this? It’s not like anyone has suggested this is what’s happening (seriously) :icon_lol:

Really? You need to read more

Or you (and others) just take things too literally.

I can spot when someone is being funny (waiting for the day you join that group...)

Seriously read around and you will find plenty of folk who think we have sold Doc and are waking up this morning in a blind panic (happens every window when a player hasn't been signed)

The amount of people (here and outside wolves) who seem to think Levy has done us over like we didn't really get a say in it is surprising. Am I being naive thinking we could just have said no?

Daz Hale on Nuno

"My understanding on the situation at #Wolves : ***Nuno contract talks were put on hold simply because he has been away having some quality time with his family. He hadnt been with them since March"
"He doesnt have to “ sell before he can buy” ( altho’ theyve recouped £40m+ anyway on Costa, Cav & Doc)...***The aim this Window is to replace/upgrade on Benno , MGW, Jonny, Cutrone & Doc . High hopes for Matheson too...Time to get crackin’ Jeff"

I imagine we could have said no and kept him if we really wanted to, but would we then have needed to offer him a better deal to get closer to what Spurs were offering?

I’m not sure the club want to be offering vastly improved contracts to players they want to upgrade on anyway, certainly not when they are 29 and have probably reached their peak.

Bit I have bolded I would say is pretty much the positions I would have hoped we'd look at (In Jonny's case only because of his serious injury). So I hope this is the case!

Sounds encouraging. Although yesterday on here we were told wanting 4-5 first team players was setting the bar 'ludicrously high'. If this report is true it's good to see the club are more ambitious.
