I think that bloke follows Diogo Leite too.....
Edit. No he doesn't
Leite also follows Dalot. I can see where the confusion came in :icon_lol:

Johnson was 25 and was signed from Portsmouth, Johnson had done his stints at West Ham and Chelsea prior to that.
As you say it's really difficult to come up with a comparative transfer, and as this Johnson one is from 2009 it probably isn't ether! It just sprung to mind.
Haven’t Villa been linked with him too? That Pearce guy appears to sort out stuff like this for midlands based footballers
Agreed. Which is a huge part of why I don't see us replacing him as easily as most think. There are no comparable players to Doc either.
Have you ever seen a RWB play like that? And hard to imagine Spurs will hand him the exact same role, because none of it fits.
They're meant to be in for Cash too.Not sure Villa would need him. Guilbert is one of the only players there who is actually OK
Why does any replacement only need to cost £15m?
We tried to buy Cancelo for £40m and I'm sure if we find the right player available we'll spend whatever they cost.
My bad didn't read your post properly and was just thinking that West Ham > Chelsea move.Johnson was 25 and was signed from Portsmouth, Johnson had done his stints at West Ham and Chelsea prior to that.

It's not about comparing the players as such, more their importance to the selling club, point in their career, disparity between clubs, etc. There are no comparable players to Doc either.

Walker-Peters whose played a handful of games for them has been sold for £3m less than Spurs paid for Doherty.I'm not sure the argument about fee inflation holds much weight given the pandemic tbh. Pretty much all teams have less available cash, the market's going to be comparatively flat.
Yes I know Chilwell. But Chelsea aren't a good comparitor any which way you cut it. They have an oil baron funding them who doesn't care about covering losses, Fosun aren't even remotely the same. And this is a team who spent £70m on Kepa, who they don't even want anymore. Never mind what they sold Lukaku, de Bruyne, Salah for - they get done on both sides frequently, they just don't care.
I wouldn't be picking a wing back to complement Traore. In an ideal world I wouldn't start him, I'd still go 352 if we had the personnelI don't see a WB going on the outside of Traore to be honest, AT's thing is getting to the by line and crossing, he isn't going to be coming inside and playing it to an onrushing RWB, Podence would be more suited to linking up with a WB of that type.
Doc was an inverted Wing back at Wolves and I think anyone playing with Traore would need to be too.

I don't disagree about the Covid affect, just don't think it's valid in this instance.

They were announced separately, a couple of days apart and KWP spent the second half of last season there, so not sure.KWP is basically a swap for Hojbjerg isn't he? But it's a Juve type deal where you load money on for accounting purposes.
There has to be something to suggest that potential though, what has KWP ever done? He's also 23 and presumably has room to grow and improve, Doc probably doesn't. Southampton are paying with the belief he'll be worth more in a few years.
But, this has been covered before :surrender:
