Summer 2017 Window Thread

I've always equated transfer deadline day to the kid doing his homework on the bus on the way to school !

You have three months for Gods sake.

That's a failing on Thelwell's part as he should've been in control and if a striker was a priority this window they would've spent the money on getting their main target in early as others did.

Human nature doesn't work that way though, some people literally wait to the last minute to do things. Often you're waiting for things to happen elsewhere and unless you are in control these things don't happen which is clearly what happened with us.

I have it on good authority Mr Thelwell is as organised as a Dean Saunders defence so it doesn't surprise me that he's failed.

I guess a lot of clubs won't want to sell until they've signed replacements which causes a knock-on effect of things happening later and later.

Apart from ..................

I didn't realise free agents just appeared out of thin air without talking to the club or agreeing terms or any other asinine shit like that. Every day's a school day I suppose.

We're probably keeping an eye on a few free agents. But won't act on any unless Bonatini or the other forward players pick up injuries.

We don't want to be in a situation where we sign someone and then when we sign another striker in Jan (I can only assume we will) then we are lumbered with their high wages and they won't play.

If we wanted Diabate, we took too long; it looks like he's signed with Osmanlispor.

Ah, I was under the impression Osmanlispor had released him briefly after he returned from Metz.

Samuel Eto'o is in the middle of cancelling his contract at Antalyaspor...

They have a very good manager, it's no surprise they have carried that momentum through. I was surprised they were still going with Sharp up front but he has proved me very wrong so far. They will finish mid table in the end I'd say but Wilder doing a great job.

Wilder has done brilliantly tbf, did a fantastic job at Northampton too
