Summer 2016 Window Thread

I don't care if it doesn't happen, just being linked with players like Luisao is madness. Who would have thought when Morgan put us up for sale this is the kind of player we would be linked with after being taken over.

Up until three weeks ago Andy Lonergan was our only summer signing. Only three weeks! Feels like a lifetime since we were all resigned to scraping around for free transfers for reinforcements with the parachute money gone.

£2m over a two year deal is approximately 20k a week. Nothing outrageous.

Think its £2m over 2 years so not that bad. Doyle was earning more.

The fee I've seen quoted in reports is £2m as well, which is a bit of a steal (but makes sense, Luisao's in the last year of his contract and he's been told he won't be offered a new one).

£4m total for two years of Luisao sounds good business to me.

ITV reporting it as if it is done too I noticed. I still refuse to believe it's real..

This. Especially if he can help us get to the Premier League & the instant profit that brings.

Smart business from a smart company who specialise in investment.

A Portuguese paper claiming it's done...

Translate, just for Vis...

"The captain of SL Benfica, Luisão, was sold to Wolverhampton, an English second - tier team, advances the sports newspaper O Jogo , early on Tuesday.

The deal was closed on Monday in London, the president of Benfica Luís Filipe Vieira, who sold one of the most veteran players and also captain of Light club team. The contract will last for two seasons and the player will receive two million euros tax free - a higher value than that received in Portugal, reports Game ."

He'd be an unbelievable guy to have around to help out our young defenders.

He's obviously not going to be at his very best at his age, but he's been linked with the best clubs in the world during his career.

Yeah, he's not what he was, and I doubt he'll be able to handle playing twice a week in this league, but as an option for games where we're going to sit deeper - and as a mentor to the younger players like Hause and Iorfa - he's perfect.

Precisely - I think it's safe to say it's an upgrade on EEL.

Even slightly on the way down he would be easily the best defender in the Championship. By a street.

In true Championship Manager mode - think of the shirt sales!

So we bring a veteran Brazilian player in to help Talisca settle in to life in England??

im just waiting to wake up and we are still owned by morgan and we have just signed heskey. LOL

Anyway, great signing if true.

Plus - if this is the sort of coup we are going to try and keep pulling off, I expect the screens to stay in place at Compton for good.

If they wiped that stain off the front I'd have got a new one with Bodvarsson 22 at the weekend instead of the far classier Tatung retro I opted for.
