Sir Jack R.I.P

Aye. Others did the immediate rescuing, but without SJH we'd probably end up back there.

Aye, tbf my history is sketchy - I was under ten at the time - but I dread to think what state we'd be in were it not for him. I'd certainly have never gone to Molineux as a pre teen were it not for his building work on the pitch and around it. Wolves wasn't in my blood; I needed grabbing and his work did so.

It's a tribute thread so without getting too deep, Sir Jack rebuilt a shit hole, provided endless Managers with money to piss up the wall but the Club had been saved from extinction when he took over.

Sir Jack played his part in the initial saving of the club. Very much away from the public eye and was involved in a consortium to takeover after the Bhattis. I believe he actually ended up giving money to the eventual owners after they were selected as the prefered buyer.

I disagree with the suggestion that the ground is renamed in his honour, purely because I think the idea would appall him.

But a statue somewhere outside the ground is the very least he deserves.

Something I've never heard before but if that is the case fair play to him.

Sketchy memory from when I used to go the Archives in the Molineux Hotel. There was a couple of groups trying to buy Wolves and Sir Jack was involved with one of them when we were facing extinction under the Bhattis

Sir Jack was involved in the other consortium when were taken over by the Bhatti's with (from memory) Ken Wheldon

There was something from when the Gallagher Brothers (not Noel & Liam) and Council saved our asses as well

The Bhattis (excuse my language) should never be mentioned in the same breath as Sir Jack.

Yes and Councillor John Bird was probably the man who did more than anyone else to save Wolves.

Thank you Sir Jack. A humble generous man who never forgot his roots regardless of his success. RIP.

Evening all, I'm a passing Chelsea fan. Hope you don't mind, just dropped in to pay respects to Sir Jack. A proper football man, hope your lads can do it for him tonight (I see it's not going their way at the moment but...)
RIP Sir Jack

My understanding of the 86' takeover was Sir Jack was financially involved in the Gallagher and Jack Harris consortium and was promised first refusal as and when The Gallaghers wished to sell their majority share.
Whichever way people look at it, Sir Jack kept every single promise he ever made to us and I for one will never forget what he has done for our club.
R.I.P Sir Jack.

Hi Spike and welcome - thanks for the kind words.

Spike. We don't mind at all. Thanks for your comments.

Thanks Spike. Hopefully we can one day get back one day to where Sir Jack wanted us to be and play you guys again.

Jack Harris stand becomes the Sir Jack Hayward stand?
