Renewing or not?

The only way Fosun would lose to us is everybody stopped renewing, zero season ticket sales and sub 27k gates each week, lower with the less attractive ties. It will never happen though so Fosun win. With the minimal margins they’d gain on the rises I don’t think they’re that bothered by gate receipts at all, they know they’ll get some cash in but it’s peanuts compared to the TV revenue and dodgy sponsorship deals.

We can hurt them by not buying any other products from the shop/stadium. You saw it on here yesterday though, I mentioned it and 2 minutes later Bear wades in with 'oh I'll buy a coffee every game and a couple of Wolves polo's'. Fuck that. You don't need any of that shit.

I won't ever criticise someone for renewing their ticket or going to games but anyone buying any Wolves merchandise after this shambles needs their head looking at.

I do wonder if this is the long-term response to the stadium expansion plans being put on hold a few years ago.

I suspect that Fosun's original plan was to expand the stadium to get in both an increased number of STHs, and allow for a much larger amount of daytrippers from Mexico/Korea/whereever doing the "additional spend" at the same time.

But with no stadium expansion planned in any more, there's only one way to get more of the short-term "additional spend" daytrippers in, and that's to price out the loyal Wolves fans, whether that's STHs or match-by-match purchasers.

I'll still be going to The Bucks Head for women's first team games, but Molineux? No ta, not until sense prevails.

I think as part of this debate we should distinguish between folk from abroad after a fix of Premier League action or seeing their hero compatriot and those who attend through memberships or from general sale. There's 1000's of genuine fans without season tickets who fill up Molineux every week who aren't filling up the club shop buying tat and care just as passionately about the club.
I really feel for all of the STH's and the dilemna that they are facing, however the loosely referenced terms to tourists and daytrippers seems to trivialise this important section of our fan base.
FWIW I won't be renewing my membership but will still consider attending the odd games as I always have done. Without knowing the prices, that will probably be limited to cup games and the odd one or two elsewhere.

Totally agree. They won’t get another penny out of me for anything, I do usually buy at least four shirts and then a load of tat in the sale but never again while Fosun are there. It’s still not enough to dent them though I don’t think, voting with feet is the real way to kill them off but it won’t happen. And no I don’t have an issue with people renewing either, it’s their choice, although shouting at Jeff is a waste of breath.

That's where we are.

I said I "might" buy ONE polo shirt. IF and it's a big if, they aren't shit like this years were. Which I didn't buy a single one of.

As far as a coffee goes, £3 once or twice a year is hardly gonna be on Jeff's radar. And I don't want to have to sit in my seat for 2 hours without some kind of drink.

Get a Yeti mug mate - keeps my coffee warm for hours!

The only thing I've disagreed with in the response from the fan groups is the call for a boycott on renewals. People who renew will feel bad enough handing their money over to these arseholes, no need for their fellow fans to make them feel any worse.

We absolutely should be boycotting everything else though. I 100% understand people who need to go to Wolves. Nobody needs a Wolves training top, Wolves calendar, a fucking Wolves garden gnome or whatever other shite they peddle in the club shop and going 2 hours without a pint or a coffee isn't that hard really is it.

It might feel small but if all those revenue streams dry up overnight it absolutely will make a difference. There's no way it'll happen though because some people have no fucking willpower.

What I don't agree with is saying "I don't have a choice" regarding renewals, you absolutely do.

I'm not judging whichever way you do choose but walking away is well within your remit.

There's a list of Wolves' official partners. Boycott them as well and let them & the club know that you're doing it.

These are things that actually will make a difference and apply a small amount of pressure.

Other than the odd can of monster I've been buycotting all of them for 43 years

Guess I’ll be using 24/7 taxis from now on, lots in there I’ve never heard of, I’m not going to uni anytime soon, haven’t been in the Mander centre since before it was tarted up, job done on my part.

Yep, I've seen quite a bit online from folk saying going to Wolves is the only reason they now see their Dad, for example, and don't want to lose that. Completely understandable.

A friend of mine is separated from his sons mother and only sees him at weekends. They've always gone Wolves games, and he obviously doesn't want to lose that. From these examples it's out of order for the fans groups to call for boycotts on tickets across the board.

Completely agree on everything else though, every year we've bought Connor the new strip as his birthday is in September, not this year
