Relegation run in 22/23 ** Now a Wolves free zone**

A win yesterday would have seen us virtually safe. Everton need at least 2 wins and goal difference to catch us and Forest 2 wins and 2 draws. Lets put it to bed on tuesday and relax please.

I’m 95% sure we’ll be fine but we need 1 more win ideally to be sure and the earlier we get that the better. Can’t see anything from Utd, Arsenal or Brighton so Palace becomes quite important on Tuesday

That’s the point I’m making very unlikely we’ll go down, however the 3 games after Tuesday are games where we’d reasonably not expect much from especially considering how poor we’re away from home this season.
look win Tuesday and it’s over draw and it pushes us very close.
Just about ticking points over.

We've beat Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea, admittedly all at home, so I wouldn't be writing those games off completely.

I agree we only need 3 points though.

The way this season has gone we’ll almost certainly get the points in one of the tougher games tbf so yeah that’s a fair point!

West Ham hammering (forgive the pun) Bournemouth probably a good result for us. Both them and Palace will finish above us, you’d imagine. So the more matches the six below us lose (Bournemouth, Leeds, Leicester, Everton, Forest, Southampton) the better.

Still think we’ll be ok, but a win yesterday would have all but confirmed safety.

Don't think much of your imagination

I posted in here last week that the predictions are all flawed as they never take into account the unexpected, the accumulator ruiners etc, and since I made that comment it feels like the Prem has been insane.

We'll probably be safe with 36 points, if we cant scam 2 points from the next 6 games we might as well all give up now
Only saw the motd 'highlights' but Palace were appalling yesterday against an even worse Everton, we'll win Tuesday.

I’ve just stuck a wedge on us at 40/1 on Bet365 so at least if we do then my season ticket is mostly paid for next year.

Yep if we manage to only get 1 point from 6 we’ll be worthy relegation candidates.
If we’re still part of the conversation so are West Ham and Bournemouth.

Coady's decision to move to Everton hasn't cost him anything, but gained him a place on the plane to Qatar. He may be vaguely passable in a back four that operates a low block, but what got him into the England squad was his excellent performances as a star shaped block in a star shaped hole. What *kept* him in the England squad was his professionalism and character, coupled with the fact he was still playing in the Premier League and doing 'OK'. Now, England or not, he'd still be on the bench now, whether it be here or at Goodison, so I think he can look back and know he's done the right thing for his career and his family.

Obviously for 23/24, it's unlikely that either Wolves or Everton (or indeed England) will want him in their squad, but that doesn't mean he can't add value to low end Premier League 11/18. I can't imagine he'll have stupid wage demands, and I'd be very surprised (and disappointed) if we let a few million prevent him from choosing from the 2/3 clubs that will want him as part of their squad.

Ignoring the debate on his ability or otherwise in this system or that, let's not forget that he is an absolutely diamond bloke, an incredible professional, and did an excellent job for us both on and off the pitch. He should be allowed to leave with massive gratitude and well wishes, and be treated to a stonking reception should he visit Molineux with his new team
This is absolutely spot on 👏👏

Forest playing Brighton at home this week - they might catch them with post FA cup fatigue . Forest scored two on Saturday and will see that as something to build on . Does not matter how poor they are - the table shows that they can still climb out of trouble if their form improves .

It all depends on us really win tomorrow and what Forest do is pretty irrelevant means we’re a game closer with the same gap.

BBC has us at a 1% chance of relegation. 35 points gives you 84% chance of staying up, 36 points 92%.
However that’s based I’m sure on expected results, Everton in particular have an annoying habit of getting unexpected results at home. You’d have Newcastle as favourites going there on Wednesday but wouldn’t be surprised if Everton won.

I don't doubt it's possible to talk yourself into the prospect of going down, I'd question why you'd wish to do that :)

We aren't going to lose our next six games, are we. I'd be astounded if we didn't win at least one, and that's on the ultra-pessimistic side.

As I’ve said win tomorrow and it’s done and dusted. If we can’t manage 2-3 points between now and the end then relegation would be fully deserved.

Not only that, there's no way the four teams directly below us all go on runs that enable them to overtake us

Sorry - I wasn't making reference to the Forest game as a concern for us if they win and we lose . I'm just making reference to the relegation battle and the dog eat dog battle that it has become .

I think we'll be fine too and will get points somewhere along the way in the remaining 6 .

Actually looking at Everton's remaining 6 fixtures - that's a tough run to the end . If Southampton could put some points on the board it really makes it interesting . Leicester as well , they have Leeds this week and will have some confidence from Saturday .
