REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

The European Communities Act still has to be repealed though, a referendum doesn't do that.

It will be interesting to see how Parliament goes about this.

Indeed. A lot of MPs seem to think (rightly or wrongly) that they know better than the average voter so who honestly knows? Like I said, carnage. I would expect rioting no matter the outcome.

Doesn't mean it will though. The Welsh Government was also promised it's full EU allowance, not just a portion of it Meanwhile, how can you say there is that much a week surplus? We don't know how much we're going to have to pay like Norway, etc, do yet. Then there's the NHS, other places like Cornwall expecting a slice of this "surplus" and so on.

You add up what we send, take away the rebate, take away what we receive and split the difference between 52 weeks.

A money tree does not instantly appear on Brexit.

Again, this was all countered in the campaigning. Both campaigns were pathetic to some point.

The repeal of the Act has to pass the House of Commons. And you can't use the Parliament Act to force something through the Commons, unlike the Lords. However, Article 50 would still have been enacted so I have no idea how that would work. We would still drop out but without anything that might get negotiated, I assume.

Perhaps those leave campaigners need, for want of a better phrase, holding to account over these constant claims they have made.

Within hours of the result, the leave campaigners were backtracking on their campaign slogans, like the NHS funding, cuts to immigration figures, and as we have seen, implications for fishing quota's.

Numerous brexiters were on that bus, and have been photographed in front of a poster/similar that said (or at the least, very heavily implied) that we could/would spend an extra £50million a day on the NHS.

The Irish sensibly have this http://www.refcom.ie/en/

Why were the leave campaign allowed to get away with deliberate deception?

Sounds like a complete clusterfuck to me.

Presumably you'd have to enact Art. 50 and then hope that Parliament plays ball (though you'd have two years to get it done).

When the economy shrink so does the tax revenue, which than cannot be spent because it doesn't exist. The money is gone already.

Payments to and from the EU are fixed I would imagine.

The economy was in a mess before the Brexit.

Prove it.

Not at all. So no fear factor there. I will keep recieving thousands of euros every 3 years not to harvest my Olives, then When the EU inspector comes to check that I haven't harvested them, he will ask for a €2000 cash payment, so I can not only recieve my big EU payment, but will also let me harvest the olives I was paid not to harvest. Not saying I pay it, but the same thing is happening all over the south of Europe. Your hard earned cash paid for mass EU corruption. That money could go to help hospitalds, the old and the sick.
The UK agriculture minister forgot to mention that in his propganda declaration the other day. Did they mention anything about EU corruption in your government leaflet that came through your door the other day? You know, the one paid for by British taxpayers to educate you. Hahaha

I have proved it!!!!

My post about the olives. Tredman and Lemonjelly, please don't repeat lies. I never said I recieved money for corruption, so don't continue to lie about it

Here's the article about the Welsh cash "maintained" in the event of a Brexit if anyone is interested.

Precisely my thoughts. If Article 50 is enacted then I don't see what you can really do. You might be putting the country in a worse position if 2 years are spent negotiating a settlement with at least some terms that make it a bit more palatable and then you all gang up and refuse to repeal and suddenly we are out anyway but with nothing. No trade deal, no anything to make it nicer at all, and definitely no freedom of movement for our citizens over there.

However, if they use it as a stick... Dear Brexiters, we have this many MPs onside and they WILL block the repeal of the European Community Act if you go ahead with this so you won't be getting any deal whatsoever. Don't press Article 50.

That might scare a Boris Johnson, potentially. On the other hand I think it would delight Nigel Farage. Guaranteed hard exit.

So you have stated that you receive 1000s of Euros payment for your olives every 3 years from the EU. If so you have also posted that to receive your payment you pay the Inspector €2k.

FFS Leeds. I say clearly I recieve the money not to harvest them. I could pay him 2000 euros to then harvest them and still get paid the EU money as if though I didn't harvest them. I say that I am not saying I pay it, but others do.
That doesn't make me corrupt. So leave it out!!!

Farage will be over the moon if Parliament try to block, he'd suddenly have a huge platform for the next G.E.

But you also listed the names of the people who harvest them?

So... you get the EU money to not harvest them, but then also pay people to (not) harvest them?

Smells a bit kippery to me.

Edit:

For you Sue. Pepe, Rafa, Merci, Jose, Jesus, Xavi, Antonio, David, Juan......ect ect ect. Often there are about 50 people, for 6 weeks. Most of the olives fall off as there are people with mechanical Vibrators shake the tree trunks. The only olives that are picked are the ones that remain under the tree, that are easy to get to.

Edit 2 - an apology for calling me a liar would be gratefully accepted :)

No it doesn't clearly state that. You state that you pay him not only to receive your payment, but to harvest them as well.

They pick them the other 2 years, when I am not subsidised by the EU. Every 3rd year, the EU pay me not to pick them. When the EU inspector comes to check that I haven't collected them, on the 3rd year. This is where I would have to pay him the €2000. I don't pay him, but I dont know any one else who doesn't. I don't pay him so only recieve the Big pay out, because I dont collect them.

I could get a big pay out for not harvesting them. Then if I paid him €2000, I would get the big payment and he would let me harvest my olives. I don"t pay him, so just get the big pay out, but can't harvest my olives.

Also doesn't say you don't pay it. Obfuscation. Like the majority of your posts.

Face it. You have been caught out.

I also doubt you're man enough to apologise to either leeds or tredman, even though both should receive an apology.

In the scheme of the shit going on in this country this really is small beer to be dominating page after page isn't it? Can we discuss the, you know, important UK stuff?
