REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

He hasn't actually said he pays anybody anything. Like a pack of hyenas .

I have to agree. I can't see anything there that does say he pays anyone.

And like I say, the link to UK Brexit post-referendum debate is tenuous at best.

Farage revels in being actively unpleasant. Man of the people my arse. I despise him and his entire belief system.

Can we drop the THM Olive payment stuff please. Utterly pointless stuff.

Whilst I'm angry that the Leavers have no route map of the way forward - I'm equally angry that Cameron hasn't either & is now acting like a surly 16 yr old having gone to his bedroom after being told he can't go to the all night rave.

He called the referendum & however confident he was of winning in any black & white question there is always the possibility that out comes up. Its a bit like a dice with 5 sides in & 1 out. Always a chance that on the first roll the out side comes up.

He was a tepid PM with no personal beliefs beyond staying in power, that much has been clear for six years. He wasn't going to have a Damascene conversion between Wednesday and Friday.

Indeed. Best we can hope for is a new Tory PM asap, some sort of plan from them and an election to confirm it. With any luck the labour & LibDems can get their shit together and get a majority with SNP based on sorting this shit out with a 2nd referendum to confirm any deal (or cancel it).

Wishful thinking, we'll be stuck with BoJo and his cronies until after 2020 and the economy is really fucked.

A pro-Europe Lab/Lib/SNP coalition intrigues me.

At least we wont have to hear the "growing economy" soundbite from Osbourne anymore...

Only problem with that is the fact that the largest number of MPs will have to come from Labour who are in disarray and in no shape to do anything for now
There actually seems a bit of a wind of change in the labour party. I could see a young fairly left leaning person get elected. Dan Jarvis would be ideal, if he were to run.

Lovely facepalm by #123 about 5:30 in!

I'm an admirer of what Farage has achieved - to build a party from nothing to getting the third highest votes in a general election, the same as the lib dems and snp put together is an amazing achievement. To then see his aim of Brexit come true, given that when he started fighting for it, it was an impossible dream is also amazing.

Having said that, he's only going to be negative to his own cause now. Getting into arguments with people in Europe Won't help our negotiations, which is all that matters now. He should sit down and shut up whilst he's winning, to avoid making everything going forward even harder.

Surfing on a wave of xenophobic gutter-talk built on lies and deceit is great is it?

Each to their own I suppose.

Taking nothing and turning it into something four million people voted for is impressive, yes. You might not agree with his philosophies, but only a moron would deny its an accomplishment.
