I'm absolutely dismayed and disappointed by what I am reading on here. It's not from the media but from people who are making assumptions about why voters have decided to leave the EU.
I have many friends on both sides of the fence and the 'mud slinging' is clearly coming from the 'remain' side. Let me tell you that my friends who have voted to leave are not ignorant, stupid, uneducated nor racist. They are however brave and determined to secure what they believe is a better future for themselves and their families. Their choice to leave wasn't taken lightly and I've watched them debate this on social media for weeks. To suggest that more than half of the UK didn't understand what they were voting for is utter rubbish.
Clearly emotions are running high, but what an onerous way to express your opinion, by calling people thick, stupid and xenophobic because they don't share your view about being a member of the EU.
More respect should be shown and people should now be looking to work together to achieve the best outcome for everyone.
Being negative and just complaining about everything is not helping anyone and is being corrosive.
Please show some patience and have faith that we have the wherewithal to come out of this situation by keeping our British values intact.
