Reading (H) Build Up

Gary Madine went for £6M. I could easily see somebody throwing £4-5M at Doherty.

Strikers in January always come at a ridiculous premium. More fool Colin for paying it. He has form for it as well.

As I say, if someone is going to mimic our system then he'd be a tolerable option, but would cost way more than he's actually worth. As an orthodox full back he's worth about 4p. He's fucking shit there.

Wolves posted a gif of training this morning.

Neves (he is a GOD!) was the only one wearing shorts. Everyone else was covered up.

#shitinthewinter

edit just checked the website, and Jota was also in shorts!

Blobby Madeley referee again. Third time this season.

Most notable work was only giving a yellow when Forest tried to kill Jota.

I do think you’re overestimating the knowledge/diligence of other clubs. I think we’d get £3m easy for Doherty if not more based on him being a first team player here for so long, they won’t factor in the fact that he’s poor as a normal full back or many of the other (legitimate) points you have made.

Someone would pay £5m easily for Doc. He's attacking full-back who has been in one of the best teams in this division that's winning the league.

I'd be shocked if we didn't get more actually.

If we get £5m+ for Matt Doherty then I give up on football. Officially.

Fortunately that will never happen so I won't have to.

Edit: He's not an attacking full back, is he. Not this season. He's effectively a right sided midfielder.

If you plonk him in the back four then he is a lumbering, very bad full back who goes forward and does fuck all when he gets there.

No way would we get north of £5m for Doherty, he's not very good

You're mad if you think we wouldn't in today's market.

Seeing as how we got £3m or so for each of Bodvarsson & Dicko (who had each scored a magnificent total of 3 each) then a similar or greater total for Doherty is not beyond credulity

Someone will think its a good idea then realise afterwards that he's not much use given the formation that they play, though too late then.

I don't think we'd get takers. How many Championship teams play 3-4-3 AND will be so dominant that they can ask their wingbacks to do basically no defending in 80% of the games?

He can't play at full back, he was consistently one of the worst players in the entire division at either RB or LB for three full seasons. We'll be stuck with him and he won't play very much.

Leeds made a bid for him last summer, didn't they? We'd easily sell him

Attacking ful back is a stretch isn't it?

1 goal and 2 assists is it?

Those two are strikers (sort of), they always cost more.

Doherty for £5m+ :icon_lol: Fucking hell.

I suppose it depends on how long is left on his contract. That said, Edwards, as an international (I know, bear with me) went for £1m. Bod (also as an international) went for £3m. Given his age, we could conceivably get somewhere between those figures for him.

Any more than £3m is unrealistic at best.

Then again assuming we are promoted (which I still expect to happen) then we have a player who will have played every game (ignore the fact that that is purely down to us having no one else) & there will be a Manager who will consider that a real recommendation & pay silly money when we upgrade in the summer.

Is he worth £5m - of course not, but that won't prevent it happening

I'm going to take this to another thread and see how mental this forum has gone. Christ.

I think you'll find that it's Andrew Madley, his brother—a much better referee.

Can't beliece so many want to change it after 1 useless display (wont use disgusting to avoid yet another 3 pages of shit)

This is the team thats been fucking superb this season.
I hope to god Nuno realises where we got with 3-5-3 and stick with it.

Every one knows how Man City play every one knows how Eolves play, but if we both play to.our best ability there is not a team that can live with us we need tomstop.worrying about them and go out and play.

I would bring Jota in for Leo, and that's it
