Pre-Season 2023/24

That was far better.

Some good performances, but some less good ones.

That's all the playing around done, still think we are in for a long hard season, and need to be desperately lucky with Injuries

I wouldn't say so, we're more than capable of digging in when required.

The major change is chance creation. I know they're only friendlies but we've easily had 20+ clear chances in the three games across the last week. We were struggling to do that in 10 games before.
Didn’t Lage do that first 3 games last season 🤗

I couldn’t watch it today, did we play well despite the team (Cunha as a 9 and Hodge in the 11), or did we look better after changes?
Cunha, was lively, didn't notice if he had much goal envolvement but very good, Hodge wasn't terrible but there was a massive improvement when Gomes replaced him.
We were good first half and excellent second half till the multiple subs made us a bit disjointed.
Rennes were a tidy team without causing us loads of problems, dunno how they thumped both Forest and Hammers. I guess wim just miles better than them 2 teams.

I don't want to pick on him but Hodge looked way out of his depth to me. I've seen him play better but I still haven't seen any outstanding attributes or even what type of midfielder he's meant to be, despite all that he seems to be highly thought of at the club so can only assume he's shown things in training and in the under 23 games that have just not translated to when he's played.

Yeah, just not sure he can make the step up, needs a loan at best.

I thought Hodge was poor. In the build up to the penalty decision he lost out in the middle and then ambled back completely out of position. The least I expect of a footballer as limited as him is a bit of effort.

He was the only one today though although I continue to have doubts about the Dawson/Kilman partnership.

Watched the highlight. Sometimes nunes looks outstanding doesn’t he.
Might just be the most talented player we've had in my lifetime. Just need to find the right role for him...

I like him on either flank... Until he gets into a shooting position. If only finishing came as naturally to him as brushing off challenges & leaving defenders for dead.

So much better without Podence and Adama, neither of them team players. Pair of oddballs. Both luxuries.
Nunes, Gomes, Cunha, Silva, Sasa, Sarabia, some quality footballers there. We will score goals.
I'm still a bit concerned about our back four, (and keeper of course) we will concede.
Might be a few 3-2's and 4-3's.
Need another centre back, although Toti possibly Lemina and (in an absolute worse case Doc will have to fill in) if we don't sign one.
(I'd be more worried about Dawson than Kilman tbh)
It will be an interesting and possibly an exciting season.

Still Neves for me.
