Pre-Season 2023/24

With regards to Fabio, the lads always had talent (can check previous convos I’ve always been an advocate that he has something), but literally nothing will mean he was worth signing at the stage we were for 35mil!

That being said, again only a very small sample size, but he’s definitely come on since he last played for us
I like the look of him, I'm not sure he's the 9 we need.

All his traits lend themselves to him being a supporting striker, which is a shame for us currently.

That's not a criticism, that would be like buying a Lexus and complaining it's not a pickup truck. We bought a raw talent, he'll become the player he becomes, looks like he'll be a very useful player but not a 9.

If Lop is here, I’m quite relaxed. Very well coached team. Just currently some obvious limitations
Pretty much the consensus around where we were today, very well organised and players look ready. Nunes, Lemina & Gomes I’m the middle along with both full backs are genuinely good enough. Really impressed with Alexander the Great and Sasa to.

We have a very good crop of players and, as of now, they look really well coached. Am actually loving seeing opposition fans putting us in their bottom 3 predictions.

Cunha
Sarabia
Nunes
Gomes
Sasa
Traore
Lemina

All a pleasure to watch

We actually have a bit of a conundrum, at least centrally. How do we get all of Cunha, Nunes & Sarabia in the same side when they all suit playing in that attacking mid position. Nunes was unbelievable in there today, be tempted to start him there Monday and Cunha wide.

Really enjoyed that. Lots of encouraging play. Still a bit concerned about CB, they got in behind us easily on 2 or 3 occasions first half.
Hodge wasn't terrible but the difference when he was replaced by Gomes was stark, poundshop Jack Price, needs to go out on loan.
That's best I've seen Semedo in an attacking sense and he linked up well with Sarabia who was also really good, fabulous delivery on corners, Kilman and Lemine should bury their chances.
Nunes very good but a bit frustrating with his end product a few times.
Fabio and Cunha lively. Great work by Sasa in the build up to Hwangs goal but not ready to start a league game yet imo, quite sluggish and immobile as you'd expect.
Neto a couple of trademark runs with ball.
Nice goal by RAN, expertly picked out by Sarabia.
Gomes, if he carries on the way he is, will be every Wolves fans favourite.

FIFY

Been said loads already but really glad Neto has still got his pace. Makes me happy knowing he's come back from shit injuries and looks brave again. Being able to really go in blitz mode every now and then must make it hard for the person who's trying to get close to him and nab the ball! I'm sure there's the odd person here who's played against a nippy kid on Sunday morning who can testify :ROFLMAO:

Superb performance today. 3-1 going on 6-1. Against a team who duffed Forest 5-0 too.

Ait-Nouri and Joao Gomes the standouts but most did well (Joe Hodge is ridiculously out of his depth I'm afraid and Doherty is Doherty).

I couldn’t watch it today, did we play well despite the team (Cunha as a 9 and Hodge in the 11), or did we look better after changes?

Yeah agree with Lop in charge all pre season we look a decent side very mid table but that’s a credit to lop. To many good technicians in side in reality.

I wouldn't say so, we're more than capable of digging in when required.

The major change is chance creation. I know they're only friendlies but we've easily had 20+ clear chances in the three games across the last week. We were struggling to do that in 10 games before.

Hwang might have some use in some situations if we can create a few more chances, we all know he's technically limited but he can finish a bit, his goal was a really good strike into the corner on his weak foot as well.

Meant to say to many good technicians to go down

He did fine today. Not going to be a Mark Kennedy style outlet on the left but he got into dangerous positions several times. Very good goal too.

Even without the #9 in the first half we did get more bodies in the box when we had it out wide.
