Nuno to leave Wolves

I clearly specified in my post that I was referring to what you omitted to mention in your summary of last season's issues on this thread (post 1,201 fyi). Which is correct.

I think sometimes people get antsy with me because they don't actually read my posts properly 🙄
Yeah, I misread, apologies.

Don't think the second line is true in the slightest. Certainly not from my perspective anyway.

Also went for a walk, just not in the sunshine...

Please, please, please don't close this thread down - however repetitive it has become.

Nuno, more than anyone else, is responsible for establishing Wolves as a PL club, and for bringing back the pride and joy in being a Wolf. Nobody on here dislikes the man and I wish him a wonderful future wherever it may be (preferably Spurs for 2-3 seasons then abroad).

In 20 years time we will still be debating the merits of his departure and replacement, and the next generation of Wolves fans will be asking who this evil Uncle Jorge character was.

6th doesn't suggest any great success at Spurs to me.
He'll do well to finish above MC, MU, Liverpool and Chelsea. Only needs one of Leicester or Arsenal to have a good season and 6th is going to be about par for the course. Top four would be a hell of an achievement.

No-one will even be debating it in 12 months if Lage works out.

Anything less than 6th would be a failure, 6th itself the minimum acceptable achievement, Champions League or better is Nuno doing an above average job.

So basically 6th is minimum acceptable, 5th success, anything higher very unlikely. Not much room for error.

Well that’s kind of how it works in the big 6 isn’t it?

Success is top 4. Mimimim requirement top 6. Anything less is failure.

Tottenham need the CL cash cow. Not pushing the top 4 cost Jose his job

Obviously, but the four who finished top four last season appear to be a long way ahead of Spurs making it pretty tough to impress. With Leicester looking good there is little headroom for success but a gaping chasm for failure. Add in the owners desire to play attacking football and I think he’ll look like he’s missing his family again well before Easter!

No Europe of note next year. So can take cup competitions seriously, rested squad, warchest from the Kane sale. Arsenal still a basket case, West Ham won’t be as good, then a top 6 finish should be pretty basic

I seem to recall post Xmas Arsenal’s form quietly improved and was second best.

Ownerships a mess, don’t seem to like signing people, Auba form off a cliff and on big wages, personally don’t rate Arteta. They will be around the top 8 by default but don’t see them threatening the top 4

Spending a fair bit this summer it seems

a
Who they signed/signing. Can’t say I’ve followed any transfers this summer
Ben White and Neves are done deals if you believe the chatter. I still struggle to see Neves going to a team without Europe

Well I’ve had a look and they have signed…. Zero!

Links to Nuno Tavares (17 league starts at 21), their best player is already a LB.

And an uncapped Belgian…

More the sort of underwhelming transfer activity you’d expect from us than one of the biggest teams in the country/Europe.

Chuck in £100m on the Suggested Neves and White then that’s a massive chunk of budget gone and doesn’t really get them any closer to the top 4.
