New - The things that really annoy you

That’s just mental to us out in the civilised world, it’s the only time Americans use metric as well, 5.56mm and 9mm

Across the street from a middle school, actually.

I’m not joking; that’s where one of them is.
It's okay, because when more children die in a school shooting, the gun toting Christian fundamentalists will pray them back to life.

Owner of said across-the-street store: "Do you think a 13 year old could buy ammo out of that, with how secure it is?"

I dunno, man, that wasn't necessarily my primary concern.

My wife had an MRI scan a few days ago, the doctor called today and said she has calcium on her brain which could result in an aneurysm.

So a trip to a neurologist next.

We are so panicky right now, please keep us in your thoughts. i would ask for prayers but we all know that's complete bollocks.

Sorry, probably the wrong thread.

Shit, shit news mate. I hope everything moves quickly and all ends up being absolutely fine. Stay strong and positive for her, it’s virtually impossible I know but she’ll need it. All the best mate, let s know how you get on.

Thankyou, i really appreciate that, she's in an absolute state right now, keep telling her it will be alright but you know.:(

Sorry to hear that. But at least they've spotted it before anything has happened, so hopefully it will be manageable and just require regular checks going forwards.

All the best mate, hope everything turns out for the best, as Bear said at least they've spotted it

That’s terrible news to have to digest suddenly.
Must be very difficult to not let your minds run away with you but one step at a time.
You’ll be on a rollercoaster of emotions so as Kenny says be sure to use the forum as you wish, whatever helps.

Thinking of you both.

Heart goes out to you both and hoping in years to come you & your wife have lots of "remember that.." discussions.
Great advice from everyone above. Be strong, and kind to her. Look after yourself & as Kenny says, come here & let out frustration and fear if it helps.
Despite the disagreements, we can be a great community!

After a heart scan, my better half was told by a cardiologist that she'd got a condition that would kill her and wouldn't even commit to her still being here 2 years from the appointment. She was given a consultation at a specialist centre in Sheffield to confirm the bad news. Like you panic set in but I kept telling her that until we'd been there and got all of the facts then we should try and stay positive. To cut a long story short, the consultants in Sheffield thought that the diagnosis was wrong and the tests they did indicated an undiagnosed hole(s) in the heart which was subsequently confirmed by an MRI scan that ruined my hearing!
A short wait for an operation subsequently followed and she is still here to tell the tale.
I guess what I'm trying to say is stay strong, errors can be made and even if not, treatments and medications move forward at pace all the time. I hope it all goes well for you all.
