New Manager Search *BACK ON*

Right that me losing interest until something ‘not stupid’ happens.

I think you probably dismiss the Top 4. I suppose they might throw enough money at Emery, but I doubt he'd go. Beale, I can't see after today, although I guess he could row back with the club is in my heart shit, Tuchel and Poch, no chance

No chance they get Poch or Beale. Thomas Frank I could see as he has a good relationship with someone on their board.

This isn't a Terry Connor situation. Yet. We've a better squad and more time to turn it around. There are plenty of teams as shit as we are (far shitter on paper). I'd argue Davis is better equipped than Connor was too. Club infrastructure is also much better.

What's so frustrating is that all of this has been self inflicted. There are so many candidates out there better than Lage who are easily obtainable. If Villa make a bog standard appointment they'll be fine.

Villa will have a new manager in place within a couple of weeks, I imagine. It will also likely be someone who could almost certainly do a job here - resulting in another uproar.

Honestly, Shi has really fucked this one up (again).

He won't, like lots of talented footballers they just can't do it at the top level.

His Rangers win was due to Beale as we've now found out.
Rangers win was down to being against Neil Lennon and a celtic squad wilting under the pressure of going for 10 in a row.

Even last year with Beale at Villa they only achieved "par"

That's the only crumb of comfort I am taking from yesterday's embarrassment I don't think Beale is all he is cracked upto be.

yeah. I posted some crap yesterday but in all honesty I can’t see why people can’t see how terrible Shi has been since the second 7th place finish. He really, really has to go or appoint some competent people.

I’m wondering if Shi actually thinks he can coach and pick the team with Steve as a sellars like patsy. The last piece of his megalomaniacs jigsaw?

Who are the better quality candidates who are expected to be available? Southgate😭
If nobody obvious becomes available and they are still want to go down the promising coach route, Anthony Barry who was mentioned by GFFH as under consideration will be available once Bobby Martinez fucks up Belguim's chances.
Might put a €5 on him if I can find a bookie giving odds on him.
One hell of a gamble (not my €5 but what Jeff is thinking) if they wait till then and go down that route

We don’t even make the list on Sky Bet anymore.

One of the advantages of leaving Davis and Collins in charge for the next 4 matches is that it provides certainty to the coaching team and players - they now know for definite who will be on the sideline from now until the World Cup .
Davis is not a divisive character as Lage clearly was and he definitely has a bit of morale back in the squad and is clearly prepared to change players and give fringe players a shot .
Look at the last 10 days , first we had Nuno , he was coming back - then he wasn't . Then it was Beale , first he was trending , then he was coming , then he was definitely coming , then he wasn't .
The players and coaching staff read all this stuff - it unnerves them and distracts them at a time that need valuable points from the next 4 games . Another search for a new Manager kicks all that off again .
Right now we need everyone at the club to get full square behind the coaches and players from now until Nov 11th ( Arsenal I think ) , no distractions , full on support .
We're all angry , we're all bitching and moaning , but we still have a season to save , we still have a PL status to cling on to . No one wants to be relegated .

It's still a total waste of (at least) a season, and undoes a lot of good work done pre-2020.

As shit as Lage was, we were hardly rooted to the bottom when he left. Dressing room not great, can't score for shit, but still a good nucleus.

Now we're basically winging it with a lower league manager till Lopetegui turns us down again. I really hope Shi, Sellars and Fosun get some venom at the games, but I fear that only happens when it's too late
