New Kit Thread - slag off what you want in here

Wait, why don't we like black sleeves?
Because they look shit and simply aren't what our kit should be.

You don't see Arsenal occasionally not having white sleeves or Newcastle occasionaly not having stripes, and if they did their fans would be pissed off, amazed me how accepting people were of it earlier in the decade.

Why should we suddenly have black sleeves when for around 100 years we've had gold sleeves in all but 3 seasons?

Newcastle bit more fixed on the stripes but they've pushed it pretty far this season, think there's only 3 stripes across the whole shirt, any less and it's half and half!

You know that Arsenal shirt was a special celebration shirt for leaving Highbury that was an absolute farce and an error not representative of history?

"In June 2005 the club announced that they would play in dark "red currant" jerseys for one season to mark their last season at Highbury. The marketing campaign asserted that the colour was based on the dark, plum coloured shirts worn when the team moved to north London, with a poorly colourised team photograph from the period in support. With help from Mark Andrews and others, HFK is now convinced that there is no truth in this story and the team has always worn bright red shirts. The dark appearance of their early tops is due to the photographic emulsions in use at the time, which were over sensitive to red light."

And your argument against me saying Newcastle always have stripes is saying that they DO have stripes?

But this is bollocks anyway, we all know that our traditional colours are gold (!) Shirts solid, black shorts and gold socks. They shouldn't and hopefully aren't fucking around with that again.

Technically, our traditional shirts should be blue and white hoops.

It's just a t shirt, usually a garish orange one at that, I wouldn't worry too much. It's hardly like anyone is picking a football shirt as a fashion item is it?

guys, guys, guys

this whole conversation is silly. why do we have to argue about orange vs yellow vs gold every single year? it doesn't matter.

because the green kit is awesome and they better sell it again because I couldn't get it last year

And their fans were outraged when that kit was unveiled last summer

Well exactly, I haven't bought a home shirt for years, and if I do buy a Wolves shirt I wear it to go to Wolves or to play football in. BUT I would prefer that the team I support doesn't look like they are playing in a kit with with loads of black like a Sunday league team who has done it on the cheap.

Nice effort by Hummel for the new Everton shirt:

They lose points for having a sponsor that makes shit TV ads

Newcastle fans are permantley outraged. Ashley could give the shirts away with a £50 note attached and they would be furious

Villa have Cazoo next season too

Going for Prem League and Championship coverage. Clever strategy from the shit TV ad makers

Going on Villa shirts guarantees they'll have nailed the shit TV market even when the football is on.

Any news on next seasons main sponsor & sleeve sponsor?

The deal with ManbetX was described as long term when it was signed. I'm sure there will be break clauses but you can be fairly sure it'll be them again for next season
