Loan Watch 2024/2025

At least we can get rid of 2 forwards in January and know we have a PL experienced replacement for GO to use.

I just hope he can get a better loan move in January. A club like Burton Albion are crying out for a decent forward and isn't far for him to go.

What a fucking shambles that was.

We weren't far from Europe, we had Cov at home in the QFs and then we didn't sign a fucking striker.

Still angers me, in case you can't tell.

Update for last week:

Fabio Silva - Las Palmas, La Liga
Played 79 minutes in a 2-1 home win vs Valladolid which bumps them upto 14th. Fabio got the assist for the opener, getting to a loose ball before the keeper so his colleague could slot home. Also aimed a decent header wide.

Ki-Jana Hoever - Auxerre, Ligue Un

Played 84 minute of a credible draw and clean sheet at PSG.

Nigel Lonwijk - Huddersfield Town, League One

Was an unused sub last week in a 2-1 win at Mansfield but then played the full game ina FL Trophy tie at Bolton, which they lost 3-1. Played a heavy back pass that put his keeper under pressure for the second, allowing Aaron Collins to win the ball and tap it in.

Chem Campbell - Reading, League One
Played the full game in a 1-1 draw away at league leaders Wycombe. Some good work from him down the right set up a team mate for a shot from the edge of the box that went just wide.

Tyler Roberts - AFC Fylde, National League

Played the full game in a 2-0 win vs Ebbsfleet in midweek

On as sub: Hugo Bueno was a 75th minute sub for Feyenoord in their 4-2 win vs Sparta Prague in mid-week. Marvin Kaleta came on for the last 15 minutes of Motherwell's 1-0 win at St. Mirren, Chiquinho came on for the last few minutes of Mallorca's 2-0 loss at Celta

Unused sub: Fraser
Not in squad: Lembikisa
No game: Storer

Update from the weekend:

Hugo Bueno -Feyenoord, Eredivisie

Played 78 minutes of a 5-2 win at home to Heracles

Nigel Lonwijk - Huddersfield Town, League One

Played the full game but scored an unlucky own goal as he steered a shot into his own net to make it 0-2 to Lincoln after 25 minutes. Hudds fought back to a 2-2 draw, though. Booked.

Chem Campbell - Reading, League One

Played the full game of a 3-0 defeat at home to Blackpool.

Tyler Roberts - AFC Fylde, National League

Played another full game, this time in a 2-2 draw with Eastleigh.

Marvin Kaleta - Motherwell, SPL

Played 69 minutes and got an assist in a 4-3 win at home to Dundee Utd. Created a good move down the right which ended in him firing in a cross for a tap-in.

James Storer - Darlaston Town, Non-League
Played and kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win at Rushden.

On as sub: Hoever came on for the last half hour of Auxerre's 2-2 draw with Lens.

Unused sub: Silva, Chiquinho.
Not in squad: Lembikisa

What’s the crack with us being able to recall some of these players (most noticeably Hugo Bueno) in January?

Majority of season long loans will have recall clauses in the January window.

As we sent Hugo to play, you would presume we included this incase he wasn't playing and of course if we suddenly realised "shit, we only have 1 left back"

That is ridiculous if they have managed to get it without, it's pretty standard to be able to recall players during transfer windows. We need him as well.

I get the feeling whenever Shi walks into a room with other football execs they quickly rumble he's a fucking chancer and can have his pants down. He leaves thinking he's a better closer than Harvey Specter and they're laughing at how they can't believe he's waived the loan fee, removed a call back or hasn't insisted on an obligation etc etc

That cluelessness only gets more pronounced as they deal with his lackeys Sellars and Hobbs who are/were thicker and bigger chancers than he is.

Did well towards the back end of last season in Portugal but has probably gone backwards again. In his brief appearances for us he’s looked no worse than Rodrigo or Forbs.
