We did. Well, we had the idea anyway.

After a bit of travel advice. I'm guessing the roads will be busy Friday evening as the last working day for most people.
We are leaving around 6pm from Burton and it usually takes about an hour (A38, A5, A460/Cannock Road).
Is two hours going to be enough do you reckon or should we leave a bit earlier? I've no experience of how busy those roads are around Christmas.
Cheers. I have Waze on my phone somewhere.Get Waze on your phone and do whatever it tells you - you can tell it your arrival time and it will tell you when to leave too. Roads are quite often quieter than you expect though in the evening before Xmas.
The trains back for some folks will be unbearable.
I have to change at Smethwick and join a train from Brum. Last Friday before Christmas, with that fucking market attracting nobheads who can't handle their beer with no extra coaches supplied = carnage.
Never heard of this app before. Will have to check it out.Get Waze on your phone and do whatever it tells you - you can tell it your arrival time and it will tell you when to leave too. Roads are quite often quieter than you expect though in the evening before Xmas.
Hop on the 256...
It's fantastic. Owned by Google now, but incredibly good at traffic managing your route.Never heard of this app before. Will have to check it out.
Liverpool fans have zero chance of getting in anywhere. Except the ground and wherever the one pub where the OB shuffle them from the train station is (is it still the Albert?), obviously.
Office workers will not be hanging around, not that many people work in town these days.
Bluebrick.
Funnel them down past the Western that way.

You are going the wrong way. Take the small roundabout, on the A5 by the Burntwood turn off. Turn right, go through Brownhills, Bloxwich, New Invention etc. Turn right down Burton Road or Close just before the ATS, left up the next road, park up and cut through from there. After a bit of travel advice. Roughly my thoughts. I think after four you are going to be struggling.

Knowing I've come through hardship is what makes the luke warm Balti pie and over carbonated, expensive pint of Carling in the ground worthwhile...it is the quickest route from Derby/Burton though particularly afterwardsAnd if you do take that route you haven't wandered onto the set of the Walking Dead or become part of Snake Pliskin's convoy, that is what Brownhills, New Invention and Bloxwich are like all the time.
I used to go that way years ago. Too many traffic lights and junctions along that route for my liking. You are going the wrong way. Take the small roundabout, on the A5 by the Burntwood turn off.
